Must have been good times.

Bugsy Siegel, Gus Greenbaum & crew might have been violent criminals, but they provided damn good customer service to their gamblers and guests. The corporations today don't give a shit.

I was in Vegas this summer. It’s a cool city. Or at least it’s cool from the strip westward.

Everything to the East has become a giant cesspool of junkies and crime. I literally saw (and smelled) shit coming out the ass of a drunken homeless guy standing behind the bus stop depot as I passed by on the sidewalk. Haggard drunken zombies stumblin around everywhere.

I also had a Lyft driver who was a middle aged Asian woman tell me how annoyed and fed up she was with the BLM, George Floyd nonsense that was going on, and she was done watching the NFL and other pro sports after being a fan for years because the wokeness was too much.

Asian Fam hold this W.

There was this kid I grew up with; he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me, you know. We did our first work together, worked our way out of the street. Things were good, we made the most of it.

During Prohibition, we ran molasses into Canada... made a fortune, your father, too. As much as anyone, I loved him and trusted him.

Later on he had an idea to build a city out of a desert stop-over for GI's on the way to the West Coast. That kid's name was Moe Greene, and the city he invented was Las Vegas.

This was a great man, a man of vision and guts. And there isn't even a plaque, or a signpost or a statue of him in that town!

Dont kid yourself, Vegas still very much caters to high rollers and celebrities. Just because you or anyone else walking to vegas with a few thousand dollars dont get treated like royalty doesnt mean the rest are treated the same.

Put money in their pockets, they'll provide what you want.

Only been to Vegas once. Summary of what I remember:

- Stayed at Treasure Island.
- The slot floor had a Chicago-style hot dog stand on one side and a Vietnamese pho place on the other. I had both for breakfast all four mornings we were there.
- I hit for $1,200 on the slots on the first night. I blew $300 of it on dinner at Emeril's Delmonico Steak House at the Venetian on the second night. Worth. Every. Penny. Plus, they comped us a bunch of stuff because my buddy and me are from Fall River, Emeril's hometown.
- On the third night, my buddy vanished into the city with a bachelorette party of late 20s from Utah, all of whom worked together at a cosmetic surgery clinic. He whiffed with all of them but one. This is what I remember him saying: "Dude, she wiped my *** off of her face, looked me right in the eyes and said 'Your c*ck is way bigger than my husband's.'"
- On the third night, I got lightly drunk on free Jack and Cokes and managed to score a 3rd-shift cocktail waitress who was a solid 6.5 but probably 20 years older than me. One of the best f*cks of my life. She was the last bit of strange I landed before meeting my wife.

Fun-ass trip.

epic slay

Sons of Anarchy emulated this pretty well with Jax in the final couple seasons
