One wonders how good Jose could have been, if he'd have been in Steve's position in Phoenix.

If he was as good as Nash then be would have played a lot more.

There's an argument to be made that 2008 Jose > 2008 Nash.

Jose was quite good after taking over Raptors starting PG role from TJ Ford. He is not at Steve Nash level for sure though since he is slow but not as crafty.

Agree. They were quite different players, Calderon was the typical floor-general who could set-up his teammates, but he wasn't very good at scoring. Nash, on the other hand, apart from setting up his teammates he could put up his +20 points without problems.

Nash was assisted on considerably less 3's, meaning he was shooting them off the dribble

Jose was slower paced -- a half court guy

calderon was a very low turnover pointguard and thats because he didnt take risks like nash driving it into the paint to set up his bigs

nash's awareness and playmaking was on a different level. jose's similarities are terrible defense and great shooting and ball protection but playmaking nash>>>>

That's more of a stretch than a moment.

That's more of a stretch than a moment.

Moment 1 - 3:58 - 7:40 remaining, GSW is down by 1, plays iso and scores a step back three. That causes a breakdown for CLE.

Moment 2 - 4-51 - 2:50 remaining, he raises score difference to double digits with another step back three.

Moment 3 - 6:02 - 1:30 remaining, he scores a deep three against Lebron and finishes the game. Actually, Lebron was running away...

I count three moments in this video.

Without watching the video, I have no recollection of any of those. Those don't seem like "iconic" moments.

No, but I do think Nash is overrated. He was lucky to find the perfect system. It's mind blowing to have to say Steve Nash has two MVP's. Even one makes me wince.

and for that simple reason you can't recall those moments, therefore they are not iconic

What?

Nash was a far superior player in every respect.

He was good, very underrated to the average fan I'm sure but no he was no where on a level of Steve Nash. As far as given "the role", he played many years for Toronto as one of their (and sometimes their main) best options. He was good but never even made an All-Star team. The year he played for the Cavs he was 3rd string PG but got to start nearly half of the games due to injuries. I enjoyed his work but he was never close to Nash.
