Imagine being a normal tax-paying citizen in one of these cities that wants to defund police. Your life and your business are now in danger because the leaders that YOU elected rather listen to the unemployed anarchist who has no job and pays no taxes, instead of listen to those who elected them into office. Insanity.

Defund the police is what you get when low IQ people are given a voice.

Information left out by an ill partisan hack OP:
The plan cuts nearly $8 million from Mayor Jacob Frey's $179 million policing budget and redirects it to mental health teams, violence prevention programs and other initiatives.
If $171 million is not enough money to police a city then I don't know what else to tell you. Something is wrong with you if you don't think that is enough money or if you think that is defunding the police altogether.

Then explain the increase in crime. Like, it's obvious that the spike is a direct result of the city's disdain for its police.

They approved the cut, but the cut has not happened yet. They are still under last year's budget. You do realize that budgets are put into place a year earlier, right?

Then explain the rationale behind cutting funding in spite of an increase in crime. There isn't a positive angle or spin to any of this that you guys can put in your argument for defunding the police.

covid
it's literally up all over
Nah it's only up in areas where city leaders allowed rioters and looters to run rampant.

Nah, the op said it's going to mental health programs and violence prevention, whatever the fug that is.

In other democrat cities where police are also quitting.
160 cops is a ton. That's 80 cars of partners against crime removed from responding to calls. Worked out nicely in Portland as 911 calls go unanswered and the same politicians that vote to defund cops will call 911 cause their Uber driver kicked them out for being a nutjob.
Defunding police is wrong I agree.
We need to completely abolish police.

It's up probably due to covid. People have lost their jobs and that city was hit hard by the protests after killing of Floyd. Crime is not up due to a budget cut that has not happened yet.

chose to deny facts brehs. you guys are batshit crazy man, you seek to chose your own reality.
"i choose to believe the sky is not blue"
*sky still remains blue*
What facts are you referring to? Crime is up in the cities that have allowed ANTIFA and looters to run wild. That's a fact.

Build something first then say this. A business, a family...a life.
Spouting shit like this from the confines of Mommy and Daddy's gated community is easy to do while being shielded from most of the fallout.
