View Full Version : What should the Rockets do about James Harden?

insidehoops

Should the Rockets try to trade him sooner rather than later?

Or let him play for a while, showcase him a bit (not that he needs that), and then deal him?

Or try to win him over somehow and convince him to sign the extension? (And if so, how?)

Maybe Harden will love playing alongside new Rocket John Wall.

Let's be honest - over half of us wouldve traded that dude years ago, so that's what the Rockettes should do now.

Trade him to the Sixers for Simmons... Rockets get a nice piece with a lot of potential back, Harden is happy and Sixers have a squad to make a push.

thats what im thinking, rockets get some value back, but i doubt the sixers want to move simmons or embiid.

:oldlol:

Rockets should just get rid of him. They aren't winning shit with him anyway. Simmons, Wall and co might be interesting. I don't see Philly getting better with a cancerous lazy ballhog with a terrible attitude & Joel though. Harris would be significantly underused and contract issues blah blah

Might as well just kick Harden out of the league so Rockets fans can experience real basketball again.

I think you have to for sure trade him and move on. He’s 31 you had him in his prime and took chances made roster moves for him and didn’t win a championship. If you can get a younger player like Simmons or even Lavertt you do it for sure.

Folks on r/nba are talking about trading him for Hero and couple firsts. Maybe add Robionson to the it.

Give him what he wants. He's been your franchise for the last 7 years :biggums: I get it he's holding your team hostage, but there is no reason they shouldn't get something back like OKC got for their franchise player Westbrook.

I guess it doesn't help it's a new GM and coach, they owe nothing to Harden :lol

They have to play until at least february with this roster.

The Rockets roster looks really really good and potentially great. Them trading him before seeing what this team looks like would be an all-time stupid move.

Wait out the year, tbh.

There's no real interest in him around the league right now, unless they dump him back in OKC for half of those draft picks and a soda. But by the next off-season there will have been a certain amount of narrative developed around the league with their stars/cores that it could make sense to move something around. Say for example, Kryie decides he really hates it in Brooklyn...trade. Ben Simmons gets a jumpshot but also gets in a fight with Embiid...trade. Chicago all of a sudden actually wants to win...trade.

Time, I believe, is the Rockets best ally right now.

Yeah Simmons and Wall, what a combo.

He won't be traded till the season has been well underway.

If Philadelphia come out slow and lose a few games, I expect Morey to pull the trigger and trade Simmons.

I expect this shit to drag out for some time tho

You can't move him out of the states , so ship him to Hawaii ...
Silver should look into a China connection , to trade players... maybe China has another Ying.

Actually 6'er move would probably be best .
Houston could look reasonable , and 6'ers could look like losers for another 5 years .

In all honesty id trade him to the Nets. Simmons is nice but just a horrible fit.

Unlike the current list of trade rumors though id demand Joe Harris and exclude Taurean Prince

A trade like Levert, Dinwiddie, Harris and Allen for Harden, McLemore, Clemons and Tucker would be great for Houston

Wall
Levert
Harris
Wood
Allen

Dinwiddie, Cousins. Gordon, House, Tate, Green

Thats a better team then they have now I think and saves them 10+ mill in salary cap too

I did not know that Harden was such a fvckin as$ hole as a player.
He considers himself owning everything in the Rockets organization.
I would send him to the worse team so they can get seats filled and Rockets can get draft picks.
Last night when he played with Walls they looked good... I thought yea Houston can turn this around..
But it was only preseason..
Wall looks real good , AND COMFORTABLE.. rest of team looks like they except him.
Cousins is right there , and could be a 'come back player' this year.
Whatever Houston gets - they could make the playoff's again ... that is saying something

They should hook him to a rocket and launch him into space.

When they got John Wall, I think that triggered a "hell no" from him. He refuses to play off ball and Wall drives and dishes at an elite level.

Too much ball control between those 2 and Wall has the handle and court vision to challenge James at being the floor leader.

He's down in Houston. He's out of shape now but everyone knows Harden is a baller and gamer who can get back in shape quickly.

Harden started hogging the ball towards the end of the game and jacking up miss after miss. He is the problem. It's completely obvious. Wall, Cousins and the rest of the team were fine.
