Lebron... zero #1 offenses... low assist teams....... 4/10 with good teams
Jordan... four #1 offenses... normal-assist teams..'. 6/6 with good teams
Lebron... harden-ball (record ball-dominance)... teammates become play-finishers and below capacity
Jordan... optimal on-ball/off-ball mix that maximized teammates and allowed goat strategy/system

I think a better question is would Jordan’s over aggressive, non thinking, absent minded defense doom him in a world where 90% of the leagues guards can shoot?

Gambling and leaving a shooter open. Totally spacing out and letting his man find the easy transition 3. Getting abused and spun around on the high screen which is spammed in 2020. Might MJ be a defensive liability vs modern advanced offenses that know that 3>2 and take advantage of unthinking aggression and mental lapses? He had some limited success guarding shooters by being physical when there was no freedom of movement emphasis for refs to look out for. Today when he can’t grab and hold shooters to make up for mental errors?
When Rex gives him the business like that for 39 points under 90s rules what would Steph, Dame, or even Booker do today with freedom of movement? 64? 75?
Would Jordan in 2020 be a threat to Kobe’s 81....on both ends?

I don't see any gifs of MJ being physically shoved by a teammate to play defense lol
Lebron hasn't been all-defense in 8 years, while Jordan was top 5 DPOY basically every year
So a surprisingly weak post by you.. not as bad as Gus Hemingway, but damn close.. no surprise actually tbh, because it's hard to refute that lebron employs a shit brand and wins off talent/team-hopping

Kawhi's brand works better then any other brand in my opinion. Kawhi has never even played with another superstar in their prime. Yet, Kawhi still has the highest winning percentage in NBA history as of March 2020.

Leonard has appeared in 518 games throughout his career, and his team has come out on top in 75.3% of those games. That ranks just above Magic Johnson (74%) and Larry Bird (73.6%), who round out the top three among players that have appeared in at least 250 career games.
Need him to have a lower usage and still dominate and win a ring? Check 2014
Need him to have 44% usage in closeout games for 2nd and 3rd rounds? Check 2019

Agreed. But Kawhi is a mini-MJ, so no surprise that he employs the best brand

And both their teams win 50+ games immediately after they leave

Neither player can win 55 games on their own.
3ball says everyone can do it. Except Jordan without Pippen.

Due to the brand their skills allow
Let's put it this way - lebron had tons of offensive help, but zero #1 offenses - doesn't that prove he couldn't win 6 with the bulls?.. if he can't have #1 offenses with gobs of offensive help, how could he have #1 offenses without help in chicago and playing off-ball in the triangle?.. remember, if you put the ball in lebron's hands for typical bron-ball, you aren't running the triangle anymore and bron-ball isn't a #1 offense

Ruthless analysis, from a man who hold MJ as GOAT.
There’s a lesson here.

Check.

Kawhi's choke job in the first round of the 2015 playoffs definitely had echoes of Jordan's pre-Pippen yearly first round exits.
Kawhi and Jordan are definitely the First Round Dropout Bros.

Was kawhi a high seed or an 8 seed?
8 seeds basically always lose the 1st round, so only high seeds deserve blame for losing

Here he is guarded by another guy who is essentially Kelly Tripuka(with Kelly himself off to the right. I’m telling you Kelly Tripuka is in the building somewhere on 70% of the baskets Jordan scored in the 80s). This time it’s the not quite legendary Bill Hansen. Pictured here looking perplexed at the very notion of defense:
https://www.hostpic.org/images/2012141816180362.jpeg
Those are the standards of the 80s. Anyway this is how he chooses to defend a GOAT tier slasher who made 12(12!) threes that season:
https://thumbs.gfycat.com/HighMenacingAdmiralbutterfly-size_restricted.gif
Would anyone who had ever heard of a scouting report step out that far on a no jumper having athletic beast? You come out and stand there flat footed and usher him into the lane?
He’s made 4 threes to that point in the season. It was one of like 5 seasons he made less 3s than Steph has made in a single game. And they send concrete feet doughboys to check him chest to chest 25 feet from the basket.
But the deal at the time was to just let him have his and hope his selfishness kept the team from scoring enough around him. They just didn’t care what he did. This is 2.5 Kelly Tripukas explaining that(I won’t call Ainge a full Kelly...he was tough):
<span class="s1">
https://youtu.be/0B-xWc_oJ1E
The one non Kelly had clearly spent too much time with them and flat out said “Just let him go!”. That’s how the 80s saw it. Don’t change the approach. Throw waves of individual Kelly Tripukas and midgets at him with unsound tactics and hope for the best.
