And Lebron beat them 4 times in a span of 14 days, twice at home

Incredible

2007 Mavs had 67 wins and Baron freaking Davis made them his bitch. You're way too caught up in regular season records, especially considering that Kawhi did the same thing to them in 2019 but in 6 games instead of 7 games.

You motherfuker really have no shame. That Raptors team would have never sniffed a win if Snake and Klay were never injured.

Bron fans aren't the only ones who celebrate that. It's celebrated annually by the entire basketball world because it was an unbelievable achievement.

Agreed. Donald Trump becoming champion of America was the greatest championship of all-time back in 2016. So many memories... Thank you, Donald.

No matter how you dice it, no one expected the Cavs to beat that team. Everyone expected the Warriors to win except for LeBron and the Cavs. Then to be down 3-1 and win three in a row, with two of them on the road... moment of the decade in the NBA easily. Without question.

It's a great achievement no doubt.

But any record breaking team who can't finish the job is a bottler in my book.

I always thought the Warriors unfortunately put too much stock into winning the regular season record. Once it was clear that they weren't going to beat it comfortably, they should have just relaxed at the end of the season IMO. Gunning for the record bit them in the ass.

But even if they were 70-12 or 71-11, it still would have been bananas to beat them. The real story of the West that year was in spite of the Warriors romping through the season, the Thunder or the Spurs could have made the Warriors sweat and the Thunder did. They still beat the Thunder convincingly. Also, the Cavs weren't supposed to beat any team that made it out of the West if they made it back to the Finals, especially not the Warriors.

Many layers to it, but ultimately a classic performance by Lebron and the Cavs.

That's a huge plus minus in Lebron's career.

He will always have that "he beat a 73 win" team.

But he also lost when he wasn't supposed to several times, which removes a lot of his luster.

Given Golden State's horrid form at the time and Kyrie's awesome play many all time greats could have won that series. Max Kellerman also made a good point the other day that Lebron/Kyrie/Love is a more talented trio than Steph/Klay/Draymond in the first place. When Lebron actually faced a talent deficit like against the KD Warriors he got steamrolled.

It doesn't even take a big talent deficit.

Remember san Antonio and Dallas? He got raped... Without lube.

That's why the thread about Lebron being the final boss is hilarious.

Right... The Heat were much more talented than Dallas and we can say about equal in talent to the Spurs. But I talking about the 2017 Finals...
