His Aussie squad in CBL also hated him cus he was a chucker

Just smart basketball not to pass to a PG who shoots 38% FG and 25% from 3pt

Overreaction much?

I will say lamelo looks more aggressive and confident than rookie Lonzo did. Hornets will likely miss the playoffs so they might as well give lamelo plenty of minutes and give him a green light to do what he wants, let him make mistakes and get that rawness out of his system.

Pretty sure they are going to try and be the best they can and if not...then why bother trading for Hayward? It doesn't look like they are going with the just throw him to the wolves type of development. Also, Lonzo had way more pressure than LaMelo has.

It has happened since the NBA started. For some strange reason, teams, media, etc. overhype the rookies as if they were the most important players/the future of the franchises, and it rubs the veterans the wrong way. For example, why is not Bridges going to take more shots than Ball if he has played X seasons in the league and Ball none? It makes no sense how hyped the rookies are. And it was weirder when high-schoolers could go straight to the league, I remember Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry being considered the ones to watch in the Bulls' 2001-2002 season. They couldn't even get in the rotation, guys like Ron Mercer, Eddie Robinson, Brad Miller, almost 40-years old Oakley, etc. were starting and these two "superstars" spent a couple of seasons in the bench until they started to improve their games.

Unless you are rookie melo bron or KD, you need to bring him in moderate.
