You got THT/Kuz/Kieff fighting for scraps and are all legit players. 1-13. Its amazing. You have 2 , 6th man of the year guys. You have the #1 and #2 player in the league. You have a crazy passing DPOY type C.

Lebron is all about going DEEP no doubt, but tbh the supporting cast doesn't impress me. If Lebron can actually go back to back with this squad it will be a divine miracle.

The showtime Lakers once started 3 hall of famers and an all star with 2 hall of famers and a DPOY off the bench. The oldest player was Kareem who was still mvp caliber and only like 33.

2000 Blazers for me.
The bench could have been a starting lineup.

No way for 17-18. They had good depth, but that team looked so good because it always had 2/4 of Steph, KD, Klay and Dray on the court. You just needed 3 reliable depth players at the point to make it work.
Lakers looking good though.

Probably not the best but I always think of the 2000 Blazers and 1998 Pacers when it comes to depth.
Indiana had Antonio Davis, Jalen Rose, Derrick Mckey and Travis Best playing key minutes in their playoff run each getting around 20 mins a night more or less. Best team in their franchise history imo.

1986 Celtics or 1987 Lakers.

I was gonna say the 2000 Blazers too.. the deepest bench Paul Allen's money could buy. And also one of the tallest teams, plenty of 6'11s and 7 footers

Haha; look at the deepest teams by some of the other posters...all teams from 2012 onward. I swear the average age on this forum is about 18.

I think you gotta go with one of those Showtime Lakers teams. That 2000 Blazers team LACKED a true alpha dog type of player. They didn't have ANY HOF type guys in their prime. Those types of teams don't qualify in my opinion. When you look at those Showtime Lakers teams, they had a prime Magic and backend prime Kareem at the start. And it TRANSLATED TO WINNING RINGS! From there, u had Nixon, Wilkes, Worthy, B Scott, McAdoo, Coop, etc. on those squads at various points. And they had teams EQUIPPED to play a multitude of lineups. That team was WAY AHEAD of its time! Could play super big, medium, and small ball.

But they couldn't shoot, so they weren't that ahead of their time.

Byron Scott and Cooper were both good 3PT shooters.
From there, Magic could run the break with them and Worthy. Or slow it down, dump the ball into Kareem/Worthy and they'd go to work in the post.

I lol hard when posters answer these questions about "all-time" with answers from the 2000s. As if NBA started when they started watching it. To answer the question, the Blazers 2000 were loaded, and from all-time that I know, the Lakers and Celtics also had a lot of depth, and I suppose there were loaded rosters in before that but I don't know which ones were (maybe the Knicks with Frazier, Monroe, DeBuschere, Bill Bradley, Willis Reed, Jerry Lucas, etc.?).

Byron Scott, yes. But one or two guys is not enough. The current Lakers has three point shooters at every position.

Magic is the GODFATHER of positionless basketball! THAT RIGHT THERE was monumental! LEGIT played all five positions in his rookie year. POSITIONLESS BASKETBALL is just as important as three point shooting in today's game. From there, they had guys like Coop and B Scott who were very good 3 ball shooters. McAdoo was the PRECURSOR to a Dirk type. A true stretch PF-C type. Even in Mac's Laker years, he was still killing with that skillset. So what made the AHEAD OF THEIR TIME was the different lineups they could throw at you. No team before that was EVEN CAPABLE of putting those type of lineups on the court.

Those two got a lot of burn, so that was plenty of shooting.
This current Laker team is good, no doubt. But they dont have the post players Showtime had or the multitude of HOFers, either.

What CURRENT LAKERS are HOF material? ONLY Bron and AD! The Lakers had Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Wilkes, and McAdoo. A top 10 perimeter defender of all time arguably in Coop. Coop MAY HAVE BEEN the first example of a highly effective 3 and D guy. An All Star in Norm Nixon. And had one of the best players to never be an All Star in B Scott. These are the type of guys the Lakers had at their disposal at various points in their run.

Helll no. We're an average team at best. I doubt we even make the playoffs unless LeGOAT has another trick up his sleeve
