“Obviously he’s still young and he’s going to make some mistakes from time to time, but he has as much defensive talent as he does offensive talent,” Vogel said. “So I feel like he’s going to fit in well for us.” (transcribed by Dave McMenamin/ESPN)
“A lot of players can put the ball in the basket, but if you can do both things (offense and defense), that’s when you have a chance to be special.” – Marc Gasol on Talen Horton-Tucker (per Ryan Ward of Lakersdaily.com)

I loved this pick.
His physical tools are elite class. Only 6'4 but with an insane 7'1 wingspan and 9.5 inch hands. His first step is god tier. He's also built like a linebacker and strong AF. The only thing stopping him is his inconsistent jumper but he just barely turned 20 so there's still lots of hope. The other big knock is he's not a good passer, that's mostly an innate ability so that part will never improve dramatically and another reason he dropped so far in the draft. But he could easily be a starter in this league for years to come if he can get that shot going.

That was a Klutch pick...They didn't even work him out but they drafted him still because of Rich Paul
While Rob Pelinka had watched Horton-Tucker at a Klutch Sports pro day, the only Lakers that Talen actually met and spoke with were fellow Klutch Sports’ clients LeBron James and Anthony Davis and the pick used to select him was one purchased to select Bol Bol, who was unfortunately taken by the Nuggets two picks earlier. The question is why was the pick then used at the very last minute to select a Klutch Sports’ client whom the team had not worked out?
There’s always been a thin line between LeBron James’ teams and Klutch Sports’ clients. LeBron is not only Rich Paul’s best friend; he’s also the man who gave him an opportunity to become a mega sports agent by helping him start in the business and signing with him when he founded Klutch Sports. Everyone remembers how LeBron and Rich used their power to get then Cavs GM David Griffin to sign Rich’s clients Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith.
The concerns about the close relationship between LeBron James and Rich Paul were so great that the NBA actually undertook an official investigation in August 2017 to confirm LeBron had no ownership interest in Klutch Sports. There have always been favorable relationships between team owners and front offices but LeBron James and Rich Paul have taken the concept to new heights and now unabashedly yield their power to benefit mutual interests.
The power of LeBron James and Rich Paul was on full display during their two-year campaign to force the New Orleans Pelicans to trade Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers. After a vitriolic backlash against AD’s attempt to force the trade backfired at the trade deadline last season and caused both teams to crash and burn, the Lakers with the help of Klutch Sports were finally able to get the Pelicans to trade Davis to the Lakers this summer.

The fat flaps must get in the way of your vision you manatee. It literally says in the article Lakers + Klutch Sports is a duo that is going to take the world by storm and THT was a product of that. Lmfao.

Look at that crazy wingspan and hand length relative to his height. Unfortunately, his hands are only long and not super wide. His hand span is still much narrower than Kawhi and Jordan, even slightly narrower than Rondo's.

THT is similar to Eric Gordon. Both undersized twos that can score play defense and have large wingspans.
I see a lot of eric gordon in him and if he stays healthy that's a great sixth man or good starting to guard who cam give you 19-21ppg with 5 6 assists and heady plays
