To travel supersonic speeds for $500. NYC to France took 2 hours. That was 20 years ago. We can’t do that today. Crazy how things don’t progress

Those Concordes were not worth it. It used to blow up windows flying overhead/be nuisance for people living near the airports and were very expensive planes to build/run/service. You couldn't even fit many passengers due to weight limitations and of course, they were gas guzzlers. They had way too many issues for the money they cost to make.

More supersonic planes are on the way that address those issues the Concorde, but going to take some time to reach the market. There are also some passenger transport rockets on the way from what I read from companies like Virgin Galactic & maybe SpaceX, but that might be half a decade out. You might be able to go NYC to France within like 30-40mins, but it's just speculation at this point whether it will go into full production anytime within a decade.

The thing is we were doing this 50 years ago. They could have easily had a more efficient plane by now. Boeing has been around even longer and we still use some planes from 60 years ago

The point was to keep the planes from flying above supersonic

Back in 2000, op was still inside his dad's wrinkling testicles roaming around like the total vermin he is.

There is no point over farm land or ocean

There is no point over farm land or ocean

I watched on youtube once that the most optimal was to keep it at the current speed. Due to fuel efficiency and comfort

2 years ago you could buy Papa John breadsteaks for 3.99. Then they went woke and they now cost 6.99. my solution was to no longer buy Papa John's, problem solved.

But for real though.... Inflation is nuts. Candy bar was 25 cents at one point in the 90s, now a candy bar cost dollar.

I just wanted to point out inflation since the title mentions past purchases.

Back in 2000 or even in 2010, ISH had bigger avatars.

The concord ban was premature. Really if you ignore all the bullshit the media overblew and look at the facts, it was unbelievably safe. The video caused a lot of fear and is what led to its ban. I mean it was a plane that was used for 30 years. I remember my dad talking about his flights on it when they banned it.

Agree. The problem was a few rich people were killed and yeah that sealed the deal

Remember when flights didn't charge for non carry-on luggage?

Remember when you could smoke on flights? Some planes still have those ashtrays on arm rests
