The rules and requirements laid out in the bill would be enforced by a newly formed Commission on College Athletics, which would be run by nine board members who are appointed by the president of the United States. They would hire a staff to resolve disputes, suggest changes to rules and investigate wrongdoing with the power to subpoena witnesses. This group, which would receive $50 million in taxpayer funding for its first two years, would take on a lot of the work of policing college sports.

Better than the NCAA's for-profit scam they have been running for decades, screwing over players in the name of profit. I prefer it be an independent non-profit agency bit like the SEC except for sports. I believe EU has something like that for their sports.

If you want to pay the athletes that are bringing in those football dollars, an unintended consequence is shutting down baseball, softball, track, swimming and the other collegiate athletics programs that are funded by a school's football program.

I'm sure they can afford to pay a little bit. Nothing like professional athletes but like 2k/month in the months they are at college practicing. Maybe pay by games played so like $250 per game played & $50 per practice attended or something. I dunno, I just don't want to see colleges/coaches/ncaa take all the profits.

The very easy thing that might even finally be about to happen is just letting them accept endorsement deals. Colleges wouldn't have to spend a penny and some of these players might even decide they don't need the scholarship give it to a less fortunate teammate.
