Most atheists are really just people who think that the dominant Judeo-Christian-Muslim religious narratives are bunk. They don't actually believe there's no God because they haven't asked the question. They're just pretty sure that Osama bin Ladin and Joel Olsteen have it wrong, and they're ok with not inquiring any further.

If you really try to think through reality, you realize there has to be some kind of first principle, and that that first principle must possess many of the divine attributes of classical theology. But that doesn't mean the Old Testament gives a true historical record of that first principle's actions in human history.

Life is confusing...

All that does is leave us with the question of where did god come from.

There is no rational answer to any of these questions. The idea that anything has existed forever without an origin be it god or simply whatever matter "banged" is ridiculous. But how does a creator of all get created itself?

Be it mystical, scientific, or whatever.... its not gonna make sense from a rational point of view.

Its the ultimate sci fi paradox and we will never get an answer because its beyond our ability to perceive. We will have to evolve to a point we understand some matter/energy/time/thought shit on a much deeper level than we probably can as current humans then we will figure out some shit like we ourselves created the universe by the act of time traveling back to the start of the universe to witness it. Our time ship explodes when it arrives in a void of nothing and that drew matter from some alternate dimension into ours and thats the big bang. Everyones mind is blown for about 3 minutes then we try to figure out were that alternate dimension got its matter and the next mission is to travel to other dimensions instead of other times.

We will never get a final answer....because it cant be answered. Its not even chicken and the egg. Thats simple. The first chicken was a slightly modified/mutated version of a non chicken mother who laid it and they gradually came to be more like modern chickens in time. This is.....where did the egg come from if nothing existed to lay it?

Its a question with no answer because it breaks your mind to even consider. Making it as simple as "God did it" is easy to understand because we need to feel like we have answers.....even if the answer it itself illogical. There comes a point you either go with "I dont know" or manufacture a story/accept someone elses and tell yourself its true.

Nobody really knows. Some people just really really reeeeeeeeally believe whatever they were told.....generally because thats what the people in their region were told and their childhood lessons stuck.
