Jim Carrey is retiring as Saturday Night Live's Joe Biden.
Unrelated, but the first time I remember learning who Jim Carrey was, was on IN LIVING COLOR reruns.

Jason Sudeikis was a go-to guy for Biden role. They can call him back.
Also, Woody Harrelson did Biden before and he may be able to reprise if SNL wants another big name.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Jim seeing for the first time ever examples of Joe being Joe, and Joe liking what he likes.

Jim Carey is a highly paid film actor and it would make no sense for him to continue doing Joe Biden on a weekly basis for the next 4 years. I think this says a lot about the crisis at SNL of their inability to attract top quality cast members anymore that they have to rely on big name cameos to play recurring characters to keep their show going.

SNL is more of the platform to create top quality cast members though. The current roster is not that special with only few notable cast in Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson and maybe Chloe Fineman. Weekend Update duo of Jost and Che has been good but I'm not sure if they will do well post-SNL.
