wew. Surprisingly a good deal. Next year, there will be a BOATLOAD of NBA players getting overpaid.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma has agreed to a three-year, $40M contract extension, including a player option on 2023-2024 season, sources tell ESPN.

good he's tradeable now without having to dissect 1/4 the team to match $$

If i was kuz. I would never have signed that extension. I would bet on myself and hit free agency on a 1 year deal to get away from bran ball
Bron and AD really dragged this guy kicking and screaming to a ring.

This. There's doubt he'll improve over the next few years.

Kuzma’s agent should be fired.
Dude could’ve gone to a team like the Knicks or Hornets and gotten paid.
Props to him for staying tho. I doubt it, but hopefully he finally takes that leap.

Inb4 LeBron haters say that LeBron bullied Kuzma into signing for less money.
3 years and $40 million is totally reasonable for Kuzma.

Did you watch him in the playoffs? Dude is horrendous.

True. But Julius Randle is making 20 mil/year.
When Hayward was actually on the court, he looked terrible. He’s making 30 mil/year.
You can’t tell me some team isn’t dumb enough to pay him at least 20/year based off possible potential.

So much for being an elite front office hahahaha why would you keep Kuzma. I guess if his value jacks up before the deadline but I doubt it.

This extension gives him trade value moving forward.. Doesn't have to be now but could be over the summer or next year when a good deal pops up.

Kuz would have gotten 17+ mill next season when there is a boatload of money available. Lakers did extremely well in his deal. Kuz gets to stay in L.A, lock in 40 mill and keep all his L.A exposure and endorsements... and win.... and become a better player.

Kuzma might have gotten scared of a potential injury and took the 40M today vs a potential 3 year 60 million next year.
Kuzma hasn't made life time money until this 40M yet so not a bad deal on his part.

But then he’d have to play for the Knicks or Hornets

That’s a good deal for both sides..
Kuz locks up some guaranteed cash, plus if the lakers decide to trade they can get back something of value now..
Why would he risk getting injured and get nothing next season?

Kuzma is trash. Still living off that rookie year performance. I still can't believe how many people thought he'd have the better career vs YDK. 17mil is ridiculous, idc what his market value is.
I can't believe Dwight Howard is making less than 3 mil and Kuz is making 6x his money

Him signing that deal tells me he'd never be a number one because he himself doesn't believe that.
Probably realized that after watching Lebron and realizing what it takes.
