that lets a guy stack the deck and defraud a sport in plain view, and actually make a prime time special about it........ then call him goat for doing it

This kind of dumbness is the sign of impending civilization downfall

Floyd was getting alot more than 30 million towards the end of his career to fight pros. And if people want to pay than it's all good.

As far as the bron comparison it's not really the same. Players are evaluated based on how many chips they have so you really can't blame bron for taking matters into his own hand. Mj was lucky to have a owner and gm that went out and got him the necessary pieces. Bron didn't have that so he did what he felt he had to do. Yeah I prefer the natural or organic way too but if bron had of sat back and tried that he'd still be on zero chips because Gilbert wasn't gonna get him what he needed to win. He was content with ticket, tv and merchandise sales.

The difference is that pippen, grant and paxson doesn't constitute stacking the deck, whereas lebron blatantly stacked the deck by joining Kobe/Pau 2 (see above).. lebron had 4 teammates (Wade, AD, Kyrie and Love) with higher stats across the board than pippen (PER, WS/48, BPM, peak VORP)

Ultimately, the historical record is clear - twice lebron landed on the Year 1 league favorite (11', 15') - that's the easiest path possible and obviously easier than building favorite status over numerous years... Only Durant responding in kind ended the shenanigans
