Gasol plays himself into shape. He will be fine but he won't be good against certain teams. The Lakers will most likely get a younger Javale type Center that can run with the second unit to keep Gasol fresh end of games.

At least with Dwight, you have a lob threat and somewhat post threat as well with his size and strength the only positive that Gasol brings over Dwight offensively for the Lakers is his passing and that he frees up the lane for Lebron to drive as he is not a low post offensive player as Dwight is.

He will find his way and contribute something to this team but as the Raptors fans said, it won't be a very large one. He declined a lot after Kawhi left and certainly won't be as impactful as Dwight.

The Lakers can always get another big athletic body that other teams wave and bring Gasol off the bench because he fits better with the second unit, there's always a body players that other teams don't need that will just rebound and block shots, everyone always jumps the gun or panics.

He's a better playmaker, defender and can stretch out the defense with his 3PT shooting, he'll be unplayable in some series where teams like the Clippers go small, but he has value if the Lakers play the Nuggets again.
