Wizards up 10 on Sixers through three quarters.
Russell Westbrook's shooting is off, but he's got himself a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 14 assists.

13 points on 18 shots with 5 tos...that’s the Westbrick we all know and love.

Who cares? Westbrick is trash
He was 6/18 from the field at one point before making 3 of his last 4. Trip dubs don’t mean much if you’re struggling to shoot 40% from the field.

Imagine holding the ball for most of the game, you are one of the most inefficient shooters of all time, your teammates Bonga and Avdija shooting 4 for 5 from the field and 3 for 3 from 3pt and you still calling your own number every time. Classic Westbrook.

That's who he is, you have to take the good with the bad. Hopefully they can reign him in like the Rockets did last RS to get him to stop shooting as many jump shots, though I'm not sure the Wizards quite have the spacing for Russ to be as great as he was for that 30-game stretch last year prior to the COVID break. Their ceiling is around 40 wins, which should be good for a 7th seed this year, their lack of depth is going to cost them some games (like this one against Philly) so Russ & Beal will have to take 20+ FGA each to make up for that. He was a +10, so it's not like he didn't have a positive impact on the game, they got outscored by 16 points in the 12 minutes he sat and he didn't try to take over the game down the stretch with poorly-timed jump shots like he usually would.

Agree. Wizards knew very well what they were getting into. If you trade for Westbrook, you gonna get Westbrook. Incredible hustle, energy and comittment, but also selfish and sometimes not very intelligent plays. And I love Russ, as I loved Iverson, but teams that have them already know in advance what they are getting into. Memphis knew what he was getting when he signed AI. A couple of games on the bench and he left the team. But they should have known in advance that was what was going to happen, as his behaviour in other teams suggested.

LeBron's greatness doesn't come only with stats. Rings with three different franchises. We're not still in 2010, homeboy.

“The guys at the scorer’s desk let me know what I need,” Jordan said, according to the LA Times.
The Bulls’ assistant coaches also helped wherever they could.
“They keep reminding me when I get back to the huddle,” Jordan said. “They say, ‘You need three more of this. You need four more of that.’”
It was all in an effort to establish the statistical backing he thought his MVP campaign needed.
“If the way I’m playing now doesn’t convince them I’m a complete player, then I guess nothing will,” Jordan said.

Yeah and he still cant shoot, still doesnt play defense, and still keep stealing rebounds from teammates.

No you don't understand, jordan was 6/6, had no weaknesses and great stats. Lebron has great stats, that's how he sells shoes, those doncic/westbrook type stats are everything because the zero moves, mandatory bron system, barely 4 rings in 17 prime healthy seasons is not MJ category.

Yep, forgot those 4 FMVP's and winning with 3 different franchises, it's just the stats!

Well imagine if you didn't read boxscores for a living and watched the game. (Quite ironic in a thread like this since we are talking about his boxscore). He didn't hold the ball much at all, he moved the ball. Acting like rookies or Bongas have the confidence to put up more than a few shots :oldlol:
Imagine that he even statpadded 2 offensive rebounds. He prob kicked his teammate in the face to steal those rebounds too
The truth is, the 76ers are just a lot better than them. Embiid bent the bryant dude backwards and had his way.

Him going to Washington meant he wants to make his money and play competitive ball
Washington is rebuilding slowly. Beal will get traded and they will run with russ for 2 years and be a 5th to 7th seed.
If Rui becomes a 18 to 20ppg scorer this team will be solid

Dumb coaching really. They went with a 3 pg lineup (Rush, Ish, Neto) for awhile in the first half and it was a disaster. Naturally they tried it again in the 2nd half with similar results.
Idiotic move against one of the biggest teams in the league.

As for Westbrook i would say he took too many shots and turned it over 6 times. But he wasn't too bad for the first game with minimal preseason work.
I get pissed when i see him come down and take a jumper without anyone else touching the ball. Wall used to do that all the time.

You know what you are getting with him. Lots of triple-doubles, lots of energy and an early exit in the play-offs. However, I think his caliber is higher than Wall. Also, he is more exciting than Wall.

Classic Russell Westbrook.
High on energy and motor, low on IQ and skill. I am however impressed at his ability to maintain his physical acumen over the year.
Yup.
The guy has always tried extremely hard.
But he's special ed.

Will be ready for Westbrook’s flaws but I’m wondering how good he is as a finisher. He was bad most of his career but got a lot better last few years. Still houston had crazy spacing. Was could sometimes if Bryant plays center
