I definitely agree, the country is in a downward spiral due to what's happened in the last 20-40 years - led by people all part of the same establishment.

Personally I've had a decent couple of days, my better half is from Ukraine and doesn't celebrate Christmas, but we went for a nice dinner in the capital here yesterday for some stuffed turkey and a bottle of red. Have a nice Christmas lunch set up tomorrow afternoon as well with some old friends which should be nice. Got my end of year+end of contract bonus as well earlier this week, almost 30K in USD.
I'll take January off to get into a proper physical schedule as I've gained a few pounds too much doing this covid crisis, but then it's back to look for a new project, or even work with something different for a year or two to get some experience managing more people than I have tried so far.

So personally I'm doing just fine(though I feel I have to shave 10 pound off my frame atm), but I do worry for the generations to come, no matter if you consider me a scrooge or not.

However, I'd be cautious of those agitators like the twitter guy you pasted. This is exactly the kind of thing that went wrong with "BLM".
