The Bucks and Warriors are both 0-1.

The Warriors will be without Klay Thompson and Draymond Green

For the Bucks, DJ Augustin was listed as Probable as of last night.

In the first Warriors game of the season, GSW, without Klay and Dray, looked bad in a big loss to the Nets. Steph Curry has 20 pts and 10 assists, but on 21 shots. Rookie center James Wiseman looked promising and had 19 pts and 6 rebs. But other starters Andrew Wiggins was 4/16, Kelly Oubre 3/14, and Eric Paschall was 2/6.

In the first Bucks game of the season, the team fell by 1 to the Celtics. Giannis had 35 pts, 13 reb, 2 blk, but 7 turnovers. Khris Middleton was big: 27 pts, 14 reb, 8 ast. New Bucks PG addition Jrue Holiday had 25 pts on 10/16 FG, but just 3 ast. And Bucks starting SG Donte DiVincenzo scored 15. The Bucks bench was quiet.

The main thing I'm interested in regarding the Warriors is which players other than Steph show the ability to step up and make a difference. And to keep an eye on Wiseman, of course. Have to watch every lottery pick in each season's first few weeks.

i dont think this will be very pretty with no draymond. mil's defense is pretty easy to exploit for steph however so he'll do well.

Time for Steph to show up big time, or the narrative could start getting ugly for him.

Bucks: Jrue Holiday, Donte DiVincenzo, Khris Middleton, Giannis, Brook Lopez.

Warriors: Steph, Kelly Oubre, Andrew Wiggins, Eric Paschall, James Wiseman.

Steph with his usual Christmas performance so far. Does this dude get drunk on Christmas or something? Hilarious seeing the foul calls Giannis gets. Those are no calls for LeBron. Nuts.

What's even worse is that Giannis is barely able to hit the rim half the time.

Giannis free throw shooting last season: 63% FT.

He shot 73% FT in 2018-19.

And 76% FT the season in 2017-18.

And 77% FT in 2016-17.

That's a strange one.

No he's not. He rarely plays good without klay. He's gonna have way more mediocre games than good ones.

Mid 3Q, Bucks up 12.

Giannis now 2/10 FG, 10 pts. Warriors defending him well, though he does look rusty on his own.

Forget Eric Paschall's buckets. He is doing the following:

- Routinely leaving his man on defense, causing the Bucks to have open-men
- Not getting back on Buck's fast breaks
- Not setting screens
- Turnovers, mental mistakes

Pascal is a good example of someone who helps the opposing team in small ways that you may not notice when watching the game. He has to work on team defense and team offense.

Late 3Q the Bucks have pulled away, now lead 91-71.

Khris Middleton was great in the first Bucks game of the season and has 29 points on fantastic shooting so far today.

Far too much jacking up 3's by people who have no business shooting 3's. Some of these guys think that if they join the Warriors (known for 3-pt shooting), they can and should immediately jack up 3's and they'll make them (even though their history of 3 pt shooting isn't great)

Ball movement can also go too far at times. The opposing team lets them pass the ball around on the perimeter knowing they will accomplish nothing, and finally get in the passing lanes when the shot clock is almost out and they have to create something. Curry being in a horrible shooting slump isn't helping matters either.

BECOMING A WARRIOR DOESN'T MAKE YOU A GREAT 3 PT SHOOTER.

3 PTER shooting

Wiggins 0-4
Paschall 0-3
Oubre 0-5

IF any of these 3 players shoots a 3, they should be benched immediately. Force them to move the ball and get a better shot- learn Warriors basketball.

Paschall has a history of 28% 3 PT shooting. What's he doing shooting 3's. Next time he jacks one up, he's on the bench. Period.

(yes i know the whole team is rusty at 3, but in general these 3 don't have great history of 3 pt shooting. Oubre is 32% 3 pt shooter, Wiggins 33%)

Oubre shot 35% on good volume last year he’ll probably be fine. 3s are a really efficient shot it’s either that or go to the rack.

No; these aren't the loser Suns where any shot is good enough. This is the team that won champsionships 3x out of the last 6 years. You don't settle for mediocrity. Especially when you have someone with career 3 PT shooting of 43% (compared to 33% for Oubre). You have people on the bench with higher 3 PT shooting than that.

When the Warriors. won the championships they scored the most points in the league in the paint. The illusion some, including the newcomers have, is that the way to be a Warrior is to jack up 3's. That's true only for Klay and Steph- who average over 40% from the arc. The rest need to move the ball.
