I think most of the people think they do but dont realize that what they think is best for you may not actually be. Get a couple thousand people with different ideas for whats best pulling in different directions and the result is the cluster**** we have.

I should have phrased it as... do you think they have society's best interest at heart, generally speaking?
I don't think they do.
I think the majority of them are self serving and power seeking.
There are some good ones. How many? Who's to say? You can't know a man's heart for sure.
But the raging hypocrisy on 'both' 'sides' and manipulation of the masses screams to me that they, generally speaking, do not care about us. It is all a game. It is theater.

The majority absolutely do not give a shit about you or your family. Maybe a handful are looking out for the greater good, but Washington DC is a snake-infested cesspool full of lobbyists, political 'operatives', criminals, and sociopaths.
In my lifetime it has delved further and further into public, blatant corruption. It's sickening tbh but hey what can I do. Just pay my taxes and don't piss off the wrong people, right?

I think this encapsulates the general problem.
People know it's happening. But people often can't come up with good solutions on their own. Or to be even more cynical, they actually know there are no better solutions for them.
Less power for the government means more responsibility for the individual. And that means more, like, thinking n stuff. Maybe more competing. Potentially even more fighting.
Valid concerns, which obviously have to be balanced against being a subservient tool. A balance that will be comfortable at different degrees for different people depending on the individual.
Arguments about taxing and spending and the govs role in the economy, I understand. That's the oldest and most basic debate in civilization and won't go away. What I find particularly shameless and unnecessary is how easily politicians can indoctrinate people with social views, then exploit them for gain. Like for instance ItsMillerTime can be brainwashed to absolutely lose his SHIT over 'injustice' that is entirely fabricated, if it happens to involve a handicapped transgender muslim of color (for instance if they're being treated equally instead of getting special attention and preference). I mean he has no logical connection to these groups, but somehow he's made it his coat of arms to be their unhinged vanguard. Then when it comes to cooperating with his neighbors about stuff that should be important to his neighbors AND TO HIM, he's impossible to work with because he's obsessed with accusing others of not being on his Tolerance Level.
That kind of shit is fish in a barrel for politicians. They can control this dude like a windup doll by exploiting his neurosis mercilessly.

Thats fine, Im just pullin your leg about the BoF thing.
But bro, youre conflating me with multiple different accounts/personalities that arent mine, and you think it’s all one person behind them which is why you think Im crazy. Despite ample evidence to the contrary which numerous people here can (and have) confirmed for you. You persist in seeing ghosts.

I think a decent chunk of our founding fathers did. I mean most of them risked life and limb in order to obtain liberty.
Beyond the founding fathers, I don't know. I do know it has seemingly gotten progressively worse with no short term signs of improvement.

Ive never used simultaneous ALTERNATE accounts, hence “alts.” I obviously have multiple user accounts, as do you, by virtue of getting frequently banned. But I only use them consecutively, not concurrently. Been the same way for 12 YEARS, yet a handful of people have this unshakable false confidence Im secretly behind all the gimmick accounts :lol
Tbh Ive been the most transparent poster on Insidehoops ever (second perhaps to Justin, but he copied me). I just get permabanned the most frequently too, therefore I have a bevy of user accounts by now.
But it’s obvious who I am when I post on an account. Any other accounts are not me.
Thats the honest truth bruh bruh.

It's not often the higher society or rich cared about us normies. The only time they did, it was usually the rags to riches people. So no, I do not think the feds give a shit about us non rich.
Even the stimulus, they didn't do that for people. They did it for the economy.

Well, not fed. govt. but there have actually been many monarchs in history that had the people's interests (and civilization as a concept) at heart.

If I was rich or if I was on the board of some corporation, I would answer 'yes' to the OP's question.
I am neither of those things. The answer is NO! If you are not in the top 10%, the government as a whole does not care about you and doesn't represent your interests. If they did, we would have had universal healthcare by now and more focus on clean energy. Why the hell are we still subsidizing oil or big pharma research with our tax money? Or throwing away 800bn each year away to defense contractors? Those are not representative of my interests.
Where is the public transportation? We need more buses, faster trains, more high tech ways of getting around. Japan has all that, South Korea, France, Australia, Singapore.. We have terrible public transportation here in America. We are the richest country in history of Earth with legendary innovation, but we don't have good buses or fast trains. We have same old slow inefficient trains we had 50-60yrs ago.
People have spilled their guts fighting for this country and for freedom, justice, equality. I expect more from our government - accountability, responsibility and care for all. You shouldn't be getting into government to enrich yourself & yourself only but rather for the good of the American people & society. The government has failed us.
I think a decent chunk of our founding fathers did. I mean most of them risked life and limb in order to obtain liberty.

I'll bite -
I am 62 so 1970's when I could vote , the division of our country started occurring based on party support.
Prior to that time (excluding 'nam) our country had world wars and brought our country together in a very strong way.
Since the 70's (50 years) it looks like Americans HATE EACH OTHER... pretty sad , all based on political reasons.
It is purely horrible.
