yes its true, I see it on shams tweet now

@ShamsCharania
Dinwiddie is expected to make full recovery before next season. Tough loss for Nets; Dinwiddie emerged as a starter alongside Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. With $12.3M player option in offseason, Dinwiddie has multiple choices being among the top free agents on the market.

@ShamsCharania
Brooklyn Nets starter Spencer Dinwiddie has suffered a partially torn ACL in his right knee, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. It was suffered on contact, and there is no other structural damage in the knee.

Shams is reporting that he is basically done for the season. Will be a sought after free agent this summer. Sucks tho about the injury.

That whole team is injury prone now. When healthy I believe it's the best lineup in the league.

Oh damn that's a big loss. Strange how it's taking so long for it to be reported.

Have no fear, Levert will step into his role and lead the 2nd team.

Funny, whenever a team is absurdly stacked, often these injuries happen which tone it back down again and level the playing field, in a way... that those players dont have to work less and can rely on teammates more in ways others cant.

Happened last year with Bogdanovic on Utah, Cousins on GS (and KD in 3rd year), Malone in '04, just happens a lot..

Losing Dinwiddie doesn't change anything, we're still winning the East regardless

That's their 3rd best player, they are done. Clippers or Lakers would kick their ass I can almost guarantee it.

If the Nets don't plan on re-signing him then how about Oubre for Dinwiddie and the Nets top 20 protected 2021 1st round pick. Maybe then the Warriors can flip Dinwiddie to the Celtics for their TPE and their top 20 protected 2021 1st round pick. The Celtics might consider this deal in order to get Dinwiddie's bird rights. Oubre is struggling now but I think he will eventually reach last season's level of play especially playing with multiple floor spacers like KD, Kyrie, and Harris.

KD > Kawhi

Kyrie > PG

LeVert & Jarrett Allen > everyone else on the Clippers

Really deflating to lose a starter of his caliber in just the 3rd game of the season. Obviously you never want to lose a key player due to injury but it's very tough because the team hasn't even built cohesion yet. The Nets went from being very deep to now being a notch or two below that. Aside from championship odds I think this makes it tough for us to even reach the ECF. Can't just lose a 20 PPG scorer like that..

Yeah I think we should set the goal to be ECSF as acceptable, and aim for as much as a possible trip for ECF. Durant and Irving are injury prone, Levert and Dinwiddie are important to the depth as well as serving as insurance Incase one of them need to miss a few weeks of games. On the other hand, Dinwiddie is a valuable trade asset that we can flip before the trade deadline for what the team is lacking, especially at the forward position.

With Spencer going down, we lose more than just the 4th best player on our team. We get a 6M injury exception but I don’t see how it’s useful, We will have to lower expectation for the season. Props to Nash and the coaching staff to rest KD and KI for tonight, we can’t afford any more injuries to the rosters now.

You guys forget we have the deepest team on the NBA by far

Chris Chiozza
Bruce Brown
Tyler Johnson

3 quality players that can fill in for Dinwiddie

I'm aware that we're not likely going to beat the Lakers in the finals but we're still winning the East

Yeah we are deepest team only with Dinwiddie, without him we cant even beat this shit Grizzlies team without Ja Morant.

They're going to use his injury as an excuse if they fail to live up to expectations

Can we flip Dinwiddie and next year's draft pick to OKC for George Hill? The Thunder needs to tank, and they love picks. If Spencer opts in his contract next year, they can use him next season too.
