What's it like having a fav player who isn't BITW?

I just got to wondering this recently, because see I'm in the Lebron Fam, so I actually haven't experienced it in a crazy long time. Feels like forever tbh.

I mean Kawhi and Giannis couldn't even win their damn CONFERENCE last year as favorites with loaded teams. That aint BITW material.

And please don't talk to me about KD. He's missed so much time recently, he needs to prove it for at least a year before he's in that discussion.

Luka? Nice offensive game, not enough two-way impact for a BITW crown.

Zion? Bright future. Not ready yet.

AD? Deserves a ton of credit for working on his game and staying humble. But make no bones about it: the fact he's embraced his role as Robin has been the key to his success.

Harden? Curry? Fellas, please. I just took a swig of cola. Don't make me laugh it back out my nose.

So if you stan one of these guys, maybe you could tell me what it's like to cheer for a guy who isn't the BITW. Because I've lost that perspective. And I'm very, very curious.
