That's not realistic for society though. If everybody totally locked down for two months for real no leaving the house, society would totally collapse for economic and logistical reasons. They significantly lower the probability of getting flu/covid/any other viruses+bacteria, but they don't become 0% if that's what you are expecting. They also don't prevent 100%.

Whether they get sick or not often depends on their immune health, and the variant vulnerability of people to each year's random strains. One year you might be more vulnerable to a particular kind of strain while I'm more resistant, I might be more vulnerable to the mutations it develops by the next year.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but in Canada we had a shortage of flu vaccines this year.

Still waiting for you to provide some evidence of an increase in flu vaccinations; ironically many in the healthcare field are actually declining the flu vaccine this year. From my experience, the main reason they got the shot previous years was so they don't have to wear a mask. Now that they're forced to wear a mask during 100% of their working hours regardless, many HCWs have declined it.

We've had roughly 140-150 million vaccinated for flu every year in the US. A minor increase (if there even is one) in flu vaccinations doesn't explain the 99% drop-off in flu cases.
