Durant took more time to return. And also younger.
Durant had it at 30, Kobe at 34

32yo Durant still one of the best players in the league

34yo Kobe became arguably the worst starter in the league, by far

Why all the threads about Kobe?

Huge skill difference between the two

Kobe wasn't skilled, that's a massive myth

He relied 100% on athleticism, once it left he plummeted to worst starter in history

Tbh, it wasnt just the achilles injury that ended Kobe's prime, age and subsequent injury on his shoulder were major contributors.

Durant isn't reliant on god given physical feature set like Kobe, Durant's talent comes from hard work.

Kobe's game fell off the second he showed any signs of bumps n bruises (00, 04, 06, 07, 08, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20*)

True. He was getting his legs and rhythm back (baseline dunk around barnes) then the knee
injury against tony allen, then coming back injuring his shoulder.

LeBron James is firmly in the GoAT debate, man died and you're still here to troll and hate. Kblaze did not unban this piece of crap he was freed by the rollback. I'll deal with that shortly.

First of all, Kobe was 35. Those years make a big difference at that age range.

Secondly, KD was out for a year and a half. Kobe was out for literally one off-season.

Thirdly, why include Lebron's significantly less impactful groin strain (not a tear) that occurred on the Christmas before the 19-20 season in the post? He missed 17 games.

Fourth, clearly one of the most beloved players in the history of sports, let alone basketball. Gave everything he could to the game, respected and honored the game, changed the league, and you fix your fingers to type this manipulative idiocy, why?

How does it feel to not be able to properly mentally participate in discussion about the greatness of some of the biggest icons in sports culture? Must be depressing. And to include '20 in "bumps and bruises"? Completely disrespectful. I hope folks have more respect for you than that in the wake of your death.

Kobe was actually injury prone and even when he played 82 games he was playing with an injury (which he/NBA always made obvious). Kobe/NBA always wanted us to know that he was out on the court playing hurt. Kobe was never fully healthy in any season.

So the answer is that he had a weaker constitution and his grit kept him in the game but that could only take him so far.

Why did Dominique come back from it better than Kobe? Does it really matter? Are we saying Nique > Kobe now? Kobe was 35 when he returned keep in mind and his time between injury and return was far less than Durant's. I don't get these kinds of posts. It has zero impact on the legacy of any great player, including Kobe.

Simple, it's what Bran stans do in today's era with impunity. We see it all on this forum, without exception, but it's also propagated in the media with charlatans like Nick Wright. Imagine the day after Kobe's number was retired in LA, Wright decides to go on a rant about Kobe's mishaps, to the point that Chris Carter just told him to stop.

The simple answer is Kobe doesn't have KD's height or length advantage. Kobe is like 6'5, KD is 7 feet tall. So he had to rely more on his hops and quickness to get separation for the jumper and elevate above defenders at the rim. Durant has a 7.5 foot wingspan and 9.5 foot standing reach. He doesn't even have to jump much more than a baby hop to get it off. And the achilles is a primary driver of jumping and taking off from a stand still. Turns out being able to bend your ankles well and explode matters.

Lebron fans are the fakest corniest trolls on earth. They're an embodiment of the guy they stan so it makes sense they're naturally attracted to him. It's amazing too because no other type of stan on this site has as many alts as the worst Lebron stan on this site (OP). The fella has made dozens of accounts for this sole purpose... it is incredible.

Medicine has advanced between the time Kobe suffered his injury and the time KD was injured. Also, just because the press describes two injuries with the same general, vague terms does not mean that those two injuries are identical. Both Kobe and KD suffered a "ruptured achilles tendon", but the fact is that Kobes injury could have been much more severe than Durants. Dak Prescott suffered a compound fracture of his ankle earlier this season. Joe Theismann suffered a broken leg when Lawrence Taylor sacked him back in 1985. Anyone who has watched video of those injuries knows that those words don't begin to describe the magnitude of those injuries.

You are underestimating the amount of LeBron stans that exist. Especially in the months after having won a championship.

In other places I've been accused of having multiple alts but I only had one account.

We all feed off of eachother, learn new angles from eachother, and essentially bring up the same arguments so it just seems like we're the same person. It isn't that. We're just united in thought.
