Here are Lebron's title runs relative to other perimeter stars of his era.
**Note the serious upticks in efficiency and pace from 2017 to present. Stats from that period are inflated across the board.

Dwyane Wade
2006 - 28.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 5.7 apg, 2.2 spg, 1.1 bpg on 59.3 %TS with 3.9 topg in 41.7 mpg
Stephen Curry

Thoughts?
LeBron putting up a 64.7 TS% for an entire playoffs with AD+trash is just further confirmation he’s the Jesus Christ of basketball.

2018 playoff run is one of the greatest playoff runs of LeBron's career.
More impressive to me than the years he won.

Include his '09, '17 & '18 runs and it's not even a discussion, that's a level those other guys never reached

LeBron has 3 championship runs where he has averaged a 30+ PER
No other player ever has had more than 2

Do Lebron's stats in title runs look much higher than his contemporaries? As they should if he's really the GOAT... :confusedshrug:

You should know that I wrote one of the few articles on why Kareem should be GOAT over MJ. I'm also known as Djoker on other forums. I am literally anything but a Jordan stan. That's why I find this amusing.

Definitely the GOAT run
Agreed nobody has played a higher level of basketball that Lebron played in those playoffs besides maybe Wilt in the 1967 playoffs and Wilt was at his absolute peak that year and he also had a legendary team surrounding him in the 1967 76ers compared to Lebron who was in his 15th season and had a trash team surrounding him.

This is why I refuse to believe Jordan had a greater "peak".
Jordan may have had a 3 year stretch that was better than LeBron's 3 year stretches, but peak.... LeBron has multiple peaks that are as tall as Jordans.
7x 30 PER runs.... Just legendary.

This isn't a Jordan thread but Lebron doesn't touch peak Jordan from 1989-1993.
5 Consecutive Years of:
All-NBA 1st Team
All-Defensive 1st Team
Scoring Title
PER Leader
Playoff Scoring Title
Playoff PER Leader
Stats:
Season (403 games) - 32.0 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 6.3 apg, 2.7 spg, 0.8 bpg on 59.3 %TS with 2.8 topg in 38.8 mpg
Playoffs (91 games) - 34.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 6.8 apg, 2.3 spg, 0.9 bpg on 58.1 %TS with 3.2 topg in 41.6 mpg
Give me a Lebron stretch of similar size where he can match MJ's season and playoff production and defensive accolades. It's not close.
2009-2013 Lebron is on Jordan's level defensively (give or take) but doesn't even touch prime MJ offensively.
2016-2020 Lebron is close in offensive numbers in the playoffs but falls far behind in the regular season and in defensive accolades.
The GOAT argument for Lebron falls somewhere along the lines of "Lebron is close to peak Jordan and has much better longevity so it's Lebron." but the truth is that the 5-year peak and any shorter peaks of course are very convincingly in MJ's favor. Notice I didn't mention rings anywhere here.
Kareem's peak from 1976-1980 is also ahead of Lebron's... Hard to argue with a guy putting up 32/14/4 on 62 %TS over 5 years in the playoffs even if he was more 30's Lebron-like in terms of cruising in the regular season.
Russell is tough to argue because he was a different mold of player who had the majority of impact on defense with very few direct metrics available. But he has a solid case as the outright GOAT in impact alone if we completely disregard his rings altogether.

No response? I thought so. The gap in peaks is quite large in MJ's and Kareem's favor over Lebron.
