Chicago officially ended 2020 with record-breaking crime statistics. The Windy City witnessed more murders than any time since 2001. At least 769 people were killed last year by gun shots, 280 more than 2019.

Chicago was not alone. Violent crime rates in most major cities spiked by double-digits during the CoVID pandemic.

The justification for why Blacks only get incensed when a person of a different color commits a violent crime, including murder against them is one of the most asinine things I have ever heard.


A White cop shoots a Black person, and we have race wars and news media outlets and sports organizations reminding us about racial inequalities for months and months. White shame and White guilt is at an all time high.


2-3 Black people are killed daily in Chicago by other Black people and all you hear is crickets. These Black lives didn't matter. They didn't matter because "iz okay to killz one of our own". But if a White cop kills one of us, it's time to Burn, Loot, & Murder.

There were more murders in Chicago when I was there as a kid. The murders peaked in the 70s in fact. People just decided to start talking about it recently for whatever reason. New York had a couple thousand at one point. Whatever violence there is now is less than it used to be. What the baseline level is with all the gang and cartel activity I can’t say...but the number won’t look good no matter what.

Way people talk you would think you hit the city limits and have to choose one of your family members to give to the Chi gods as a blood toll. It’s what it’s always been. Dangerous for some in the wrong places and like any other city for the extreme vast majority of people.

I grew up in one of the worst parts from the perspective of outsiders and the most dangerous place I’ve ever been from what I could see is nicholtown in Greenville South Carolina....and even there? Nobody really bothered you unless you were being foolish. The outsiders perspective on bad neighborhoods is rarely shared from inside it.

There isn’t and never has been a “It’s fine when we do it” argument that wasn’t made in jest. That random white people on the internet(generally racist conservatives who would pretend there’s no such thing) feel they need to point out black on black violence like blacks don’t acknowledge it is...weird. But a lot of things such people do is weird to me. Weirdest of all is their need to ask why blacks protest cop killings more than black on black crime when if you actually go to one of these things it’s mostly white people. 20 big city protests cleverly framed might show you 6 black speakers but across the country in the widespread protests? Swarms of white people every time. I must have seen 100 people blocking traffic in New Orleans and maybe 10 were black. Max.

Black people have been doing stop the violence and unity marches for 40-50 years. Rappers, athletes, politicians, and all....the gang peace treaties in the 90s. But all that’s forgotten when thousands of white people(antifa and others) get in on large scale things and people then wanna know “But why not stop black on black violence?” as if people have not been trying forever.

It only really got widespread attention as backlash to largely white driven protests and media coverage.

You could as appropriately ask why don’t white people care about black on black violence as a problem to be solved as much as police brutality. Conservative by policy want a smaller hand in government, less taxation etc. Whereas democrats want to provide for the less fortunate by taxation -- which historically has affected the middle class more than any other.
