The Pelicans are the worst team in the league when it comes to blowing certain wins and close games. Mainly because of certified empty stat choker Ingram.

It’s mainly because of Stan Van Gundy. If you want to get into that more. We can

SVG better get his shit together..

Ingram and Zion are the main options, why did Lolzo take the most shots on the team??
His bricks and turnovers are brutal to watch, if he can’t be a facilitator they need to ship his ass out for a better pg..

What's going on with VanGundy

Spent the day tweeting about far left politics and lost to an inferior team at home by 1.

Is stuck in a time warp playing 1980s NBA basketball of “hold them under 100” or lose. That won’t ever really work in this nba. They’re ok defensively, but bad offensively, and 30th or so in pace. Again; not a formula that will work in today’s NBA.

Thank God he has Ingram and Zion. There is little else. Poor roster construction. Not enough shooters. And Van Gundy has never really won anything.

They’ll be about what he’s always kinda been. He gets less out of more instead of the other eat around. They win around 32 or so games and don’t make the playoffs and waste another year of Zion on the cheap.

It was a poor hire. He lacks the basic professionalism to focus on his craft... tweeting politics on game day. How silly

Look at the Suns and the Clippers pace - they're the bottom two. The Lakers are 20th in pace. Pels are tied for 26th. I don't think there is anything wrong with the Pelicans pace.

They were a bad transition defensive team last year and they couldn't continue playing fast paced basketball with such poor transition defense. They're slowing the game down so they can get back and defend. That makes sense.

They're a top 5 defensive team so far this year in terms of Defensive Efficiency when they were 18th last year. That is a good place to start with a young team.

They can afford to do that because they have Ingram and Zion to lean on, though they're both young - but one is an All-Star and the other will be.

Similarly, the Clippers have Kawhi and George, the Suns have Booker and Paul and of course the Lakers have LeBron and AD. When you have offensive firepower like that you don't really have to worry so much about pace rankings.
