Including six games this year. That's 279 makes for 978 attempts, or 1.3/4.5 per game.

Does analytics support this kind of shooting? What if Simmons was persuaded to shoot that often from three, and he could get to Westbrook levels of efficiency, would it be beneficial?

Hovering near Charles Barkley territory, 0.266 from 3, career-wise.

If Simmons can take 2 a game and make a 3 every 2 games, I'm sure 76er fans would be delighted with that. As a matter of fact as a Westbrook guy, I'd be ecstatic if the most 3s he took in 1 game would be 2, even if only shot 25% :lol Simmons is more disciplined to cap out at two 3s taken a game.

He had career highs in basically all shooting categories in his 2017 MVP season, and he hasn't been the same since. Like, Westbrook was actually amazing in 2017, but his current version is 1-2 tiers below.

Westbrook shouldn't be shooting them unless the ball gets kicked out to him wide open or if he is trying to beat the shot clock. He still thinks he can shoot them off the dribble in spite of all the evidence to the contrary.
