 Cannot make a post without mentioning Jordan/LeBron/Pippen. Literally incapable of doing it

the term "a pippen" is common vernacular to knowledgeable fans - it means a player like draymond that isn't known for elite scoring and is synonymous with secondary or tertiary option status

Everyone knows that all players in history were "pippen's" because they needed a "Jordan" teammate to outscore them for a playoff run... MJ is the only guy that just needed a pippen (someone that scored far less in every series)

the term "a pippen" is common vernacular to knowledgeable fans - it means a player who is elite in all facets of the game and a true team player, who's game needs to be measured by his intangible impact in addition to box score numbers.

Everyone knows that very few players in history were "pippen's" because most have had gaps or flaws in their game, but pippen had essentially none... Mj is the only guy that had a pippen in the 90s (someone else who was bitw at their position)

Pippen only averaged 5 apg (peak 7 apg) and couldn't score

So he wasn't elite at scoring or passing

Jordan averaged more assists and assist percentage (he assisted 30% more often than Pippen)

Only Jordan won a bunch of rings with a 2nd option that was far inferior statistically (carried)

Assist Percentage 1991-1993 Playoffs:

Jordan.... 31.1%
Pippen.... 23.3%

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/pippesc01.html#1991-1993-sum:playoffs_advanced

Assist Percentage 1996-1998 Playoffs:

Jordan.... 22.3%
Pippen.... 22.0%

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/pippesc01.html#1996-1998-sum:playoffs_advanced

^^^ So Jordan assisted 30% more often during the 1st three-peat, and slightly more often during the 2nd three-peat, while doubling Pippen's scoring!!!

PLAYOFFS

11' WADE........ 24.5 ppg
11' LEBRON.... 23.7 ppg

20' AD........'..... 27.8 ppg
20' LEBRON.... 27.7 ppg

88' MCHALE.... 25.1 ppg
88' BIRD........... 24.9 ppg

^^^ Everyone in history is a "pippen" because they needed a "jordan" teammate that could outscore them for a playoff run - MJ is the only guy that just needed a pippen (someone that produced far less in every series)

CAREER

JORDAN.... 30.1 ppg... 5.3 apg
PIPPEN..'... 16.1 ppg... 5.2 apg

Pippen was trash, which is why MJ is goat and produced goat stats.. it's more like.... JUST pip for chips?

it's a credit to Jordan that he won with a sidekick that was nothing without a system, just like draymond

6 rings with a player that produced less than Paul George and a little more than Draymond

Pippen had lower stats across the board than Wade, AD, Kyrie, and Love (BPM, PER, WS/48, PPG, efficiency)

A trash player made the Dream Team?

Laettner and Pippen were fast friends

A trash player made the Dream Team?

In 1990, the Bulls had the #19 defense (the 09' Cavs had the #3 defense), and Pippen had lower PER, BPM, VORP and WS/48 than Mo Williams..

But despite Pippen and the Bulls being trash on both sides of the ball, Jordan would've won the title if not for pippen's migraine sabatoge

So pippen made the 92' team based solely off his 1991 run, which was the only decent playoff run of his career.. guys like Dominique, Isiah or Shaq were a lot more deserving... otherwise, Pippen was literal trash in every playoff run

1-9.

1-9 with an 8 seed against the champs is pretty good for a rookie on the 04' Cavs

That was Jordan's situation and team

Otoh, Lebron went 1-9 with conference champions in 17' and 18'..... 4-8 with the league favorite in 09' and 10'.... 2-12 with 2 seeds in 07/11/14

Pippen averaged 5 apg (peak 7 apg) and could score

He was elite at scoring for a 2nd option and passing

Jordan averaged 36% usage in his playoff career the highest all time (he used 64% more possessions than Pippen)

Only Jordan won a bunch of rings with a 2nd option who was BITW at his position (stacked)

Dudes hang onto one season like MJ came back right after the 55 wins. 34-32 without MJ 2nd year, they waved Bat signal. MJ comes back they go 13-3.
