As a Nets fan, I dont want to speculate, but lets analyze some facts. At first people were saying that it must've been a protest of what happened in washington, but its been more than 3 games and this way of protest just doesnt make sense anymore. He could've used media to voice his frustration, and yet hes just silent everywhere. Apparently, it has nothing to do with the capitol riot. What else could've happened?

My take is that, its a dispute against Steve Nash over the starting role of Deandre Jordan. Think about it, the day when Durant was forced to sit with safety protocol, Nets came out with a blowout win against Utah Jazz, a playoffs team at its full strength. Other than Durant not playing, another noticeable change was that Allen finally got his well deserved starting center spot. DJ was forced to play a backup center, and his minutes dwindled further. Irving played well that game, and then he went MIA. Something seems quite fishy doesnt it?

According to reports, Irving texted his teammates that hes not going to play the next game against 76ers, but Nash was conveniently ignored and missed out. When interviewed, Nash even mentioned that he didnt hear back from Irving, not even trying to hide any details. I feel that this is an overruling of Steve Nash's authority, and knowing Irving's lack of professionalism its no surprise that he just sits out when things dont go his way. Absolutely pathetic effort, I am tired of defending this man now. Still admire his skill and his domination against Curry, but come on hes 28 years old and childish like hes 8.
