The other thing I was thinking of the other day was how twitter, facebook et al were practically lauded about a decade ago during the Arab spring. People were saying it was so great how social media had helped facilitate the uprisings in the middle east. Clearly big tech and the US govt. have no problem with social media fermenting chaos overseas but apply a double standard in the US.

Based on what we have seen the past few days big tech are going to be complicit with the US govt in silencing some voices whilst amplifying others, social media is actually a total godsend to the NSA, CIA etc imo.

I agree with his argument entirely. They have no problem with the govt having their foot on the throat of small business for damn near a year but the minute someone complains about the moderating behavior of big tech people play the "you can't tell them what to to do, it's a private business" argument.

Honestly its just another indicator of just how out of touch these clowns are.

That exact thing happened to a business near me in Davis, CA.

I can't remember the exact specfics but the boomer owners of some sandwich restaurant were anti BLM and they got on the wrong side of either their gen z college kid employees or their liberal clientele and basically ended up losing their business.

In fairness I think the owners did or said something stupid and ill advised on social media that caused them to incur the wrath of the mob but still it's one of those things where the left wing mob think they have the right to determine who does and who does not stay in business. It's disgusting.

Freedom of Speech simply means that the Gov is not allowed to arrest you for your beliefs or the shit you say. It does NOT mean that every website on the planet is forced to host your stupid opinions. Twitter and every other social media website has been banning users since their inception and THEY are the ones that should have that right. "The day that the Gov starts dictating what are media does is the day we are a dictatorship."

Yes because there's no in-between, right? Either it's free or it's a dictatorship is basically what you're saying.

What about when government people don't dictate, but instead work together with various media platforms, outlets and journalists to control what is being written and said?
No you can't apply the word dictatorship to that situation, but the outcome of controlled information for the population is still the same.

Maybe you should read the wiki link yourself... heres the very first sentence

"Freedom of the press or freedom of the media is the principle that communication and expression through various media, including printed and electronic media, especially published materials, should be considered a right to be exercised freely."

Then a little further down the page they talk about international law

"The United Nations' 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights states: "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference, and to seek, receive, and impart information and ideas through any media regardless of frontiers".

Freedom of speech is far more broad of a concept than our simple constitutional definition. If you want to pretend that freedom of speech should not be thought of as a principle/concept, but only as it exists in a strictly legal sense... Uganda is a sovereign nation with their own laws/constitution, and no doubt their govt feels legally justified in this decision.

What does it matter what profile he uses, if everything he says is considered against guidelines because it's divisive? A guideline that only seems to apply to him, as people on the left aren't considered divisive in this sphere, because they have "the correct opinion".

There's a lot more too it that you don't seem to grasp either, I was more referencing journalists and platform management to be working with people from a party. Like we saw a ton of in the DNC email leeks, lots of back and forth between Podesta and other DNC high ups with media personalities, discussing opinion and what is to be said and written.

The brutal truth is that the system of society as we know it has failed over the last 40 years. Wealth and information flows have been centralized by a very small number of people, the majority of wealth sits at the top while opinion can generally be controlled through information.

Think about it, almost everyone who votes will say two things:
1) They wish there were more than two parties.
2) No politicians should be corrupt, and they shouldn't be making hundreds of millions of dollars in their careers.

Yet, over the last 40 years not an inch has been gained in getting closer to moving away from the two party system, and the same very rich politicians are voted on again and again.

The only way reality can deflect so much from general opinion of how things should work, is because opinion is controlled.

Objectively, if opinion wasn't controlled, then right now would be an amazing good time by the people to demand at least 4 parties. There are calls for a "MAGA" or "Patriot" party on the right, but on the left they're busy focusing on OMB.
The DNC screwed Bernie a second time, even arguing in court that they too are a private entity and can bring forward a candidate as they please, the rest is just for show.
If opinion wasn't controlled, all people who voted for Bernie would be demanding a second party on the left, instead of voting for Biden.

But then again, all the extra votes for Biden compared to Hillary only came from more or less 5 different cities and couldn't be registered in the polls leading up to the election, so who really knows what the hell people really thinks.

Freedom of speech in constitution is guaranteed from the government. However, private companies are not government entities. This is not North Korea or Soviet union where the government owns the companies.

Case in point: If you were to post hardcore porn on ish or threaten to murder another poster, Jeff will ban you. You will not be able to take him to court over it because this is his private website - he is not obligated to give you right to express whatever you want. Try it. Then take it to court. We will see how quickly the court throws out the case.

You are not even American so I understand you not knowing how we run things here. Stick to 4chan.

Perhaps it wouldn't be an issue if Liberal entities such as Twitter and Facebook would refrain from considering Conservative ideas and opinions as hate speech or speech that they determine violates their terms. For example, questioning and challenging the outcome of the election is considered a violation. Did you know that? Dorsey and Zuckerberg already admitted before Congress that there were "mistakes" and "biases" on their platform.

Again, if this was happening to you clowns on the Left, you would all be doing one of these in unison...

Remember when Twitter/Facebook/Google and the rest of the tech industry banned Hillary, her surrogates in the DNC, MSNBC/CNN/NYT/WAPO...etc, for questioning the outcome of the 2016 election with their endless baseless claims about Russian hackers?

Remember how every time someone posted a comment on election rigging in 2016, the tech giants put a little tag on it saying it was "disputed and misleading"?

Remember how every ANTIFA account got banned from these internet platforms after using them to coordinate their "mostly peaceful" riots and looting? Remember how all the politicians and media news readers who supported these rioters had their account terminated for promoting violence?

Remember how all those members of congress were banned for insurrection and subverting democracy when they tried to impeach Trump for asking Ukraine to look into the criminal dealings of a politically connected crackhead (a crackhead who had already been under investigation by the DOJ for money laundering and corruption for ~2 years at the time of Trumps request)?

:oldlol:

If these companies like Twitter and Facebook want to ban Trump thats fine by me ... but unless they are going to ban all of the other people who have been pulling the same shit (or worse) over the past ~4 years, they dont get to pretend this coordinated deplatforming is about anything other than partisan politics.

The Russians hacked 76 different Clinton campaign staffers' emails, as per Mueller & his investigation team. You want the underlying evidences? Well, it's classified. For now anyways.

And since you are so stuck on it all being a conspiracy and asking me to show evidence proving Russians were involved, I can ask you the same. What evidence do you have that the DNC emails were leaked from the inside? I will wait for your evidence to your claim.

Unless if you think everyone is in on this huge global conspiracy? US government, all US intelligence agencies, US media, French presidential campaigns, French intelligence agencies, French media, German media, German governments, Italian media, hundreds of thousands of people all in a global conspiracy to setup Russia. Is that what you believe?

I never claimed actual votes were hacked/altered in 2016 by Russia - that has not been the claim. Instead, the claim has been towards inference by Russian intelligence, and yes interference did happen. Just not to the point of altering votes in 2016 - there is no evidence of altering actual votes and nobody has claimed Russians actually altered the actual votes.

Over the course of the election, a wide-ranging group of Russians probed state voter databases for insecurities; hacked the Hillary Clinton campaign, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Democratic National Committee; tried to hack the campaign of Sen. Marco Rubio and the Republican National Committee; released politically damaging information on the internet; spread propaganda on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram; staged rallies in Florida and Pennsylvania; set up meetings with members of the Trump campaign and its associates; and floated a business proposition for a skyscraper in Moscow to the Trump Organization.

The goal, as determined by the U.S. intelligence community and backed up by evidence gathered by Special Counsel Robert Mueller: To damage the Clinton campaign, boost Trump’s chances and sow distrust in American democracy overall.

The claim has been that Russian intelligence was trying to cause chaos, which they surely did. Republican intelligence acquired those emails from DNC servers and also funded protests in America using Russian resources. That is something we do know took place.

However, what we don't know is if Trump was involved in that. I don't think Trump involvement has been proven so he probably didn't know what was Putin trying to do. The only thing we truly know about is the meetings/conversations over Trump towers in Moscow. I don't know if that was illegal, but it was not disclosed & lied about. Clearly very much questionable ethically, but that's about the limit.

You're a waste of time though, my response to you would be the same as the one I gave to prime, but you can't comprehend an opinion different than your own.

You clearly have no clue how things work. You are just on 4chan/twitter finding conspiracy nonsense, losing your mind over a politician from a country you don't even live in. You are not even American. You worry about where you live, and I will worry about where I live.

It doesn't matter how many times you parrot yourself, your fantasies still won't be true.
You live with your family and have a hard time dealing with your internet bill after gobbling up 1.2 terabytes in less than a month(!!!), you're obviously a deadbeat - which is also why you assume that I'm losing my mind, because you can't comprehend that I don't use ISH like you. I only really express opinion here that I can't IRL due to the environment of my work.

I've seen you speak degrading of poor redneck Trump supporters from poor red states, wtf do you care if your internet bill is 80 or 160? It's just a tiny grab for a successful democrat like yourself, right?
lol, complaining about 10 bucks per extra 50 gigs really gives it away.

Look, if you're ever watching yourself in the mirror, thinking "why am I not more successful?", I can almost guarantee you that at least some of the answer for that is that you're part of a household which uses so much internet. Streaming Netflil/Sling from 6PM-1AM isn't healthy.
:oldlol: I can't believe I actually took your opinion even a bit serious at one point.

This guy and retard3 keep lying to themselves that they are better off than they really are.

I broke down retard3s possibility of renting out a place of his own and its economically impossible for him to do so

Listen, I only watch Lakers games and nfl games on Sundays. I occasionally watch tv shows and 1 movie a week at most. Other than that, my tv is turned off most of the day. I rarely watch news channels or anything else - although I did watch impeachment stuff today. I'm not the only person living here if you think I watch 7hrs of tv each day. I averaged out the hours someone is streaming something each day, but that doesn't mean I'm the one sitting in front of tv 6pm-1am.

Definitely coordinated by Hillary and the MSM. So the Dems resorted to a 4 year long smear campaign just to sway voters and convince them that Trump was corrupt and a danger to this country.

And it worked! This is the game Democrats play. This is the game Republicans refuse to play because they don't know how and because the media isn't behind them.

What's this obsession with me not being American? You know someone made that up as well, right? :oldlol:

This is hilarious, like your ultimate moment of cognitive dissonance and your mind can only comprehend that I work for a firm funded by the very center of the conspiracy theory that was conjured up for you :oldlol:
Isn't it you who's always about that evidence?
Look at the document, read it, that's John Ratcliffe's signature, read what the document refers to. Hand written notes by the former head of the CIA, proving that the Russia scandal was made up by the Hillary campaign.
Yes there was a lot of people in on it, yes they conspired, and yes they tricked you.
And it's not even something anyone can be prosecuted for, it's just move in the information game played by these politicians.
I know it sucks finding out you believed in something that was just made up by a bunch of politicians, but that's reality.

Trump failed, Biden will be President and I've already moved on, this isn't about that though. This is about how government officials tricked the US public through disinformation, and you fell for it, peddling obviously fake conspiracy theories for years.

Your whole schtick is always "where's the proof?", but when you get the proof all you can say is "move on". I guess what angry Chewing says is right, you really are a gutless coward :oldlol:
