View Full Version : How is the Brooklyn trio more talented than The 2016 Cavs?

The Nets have Irving, KD and Harden. The Cavs had Irving too. But they also had Love and Lebron. Now, before Love came to the Cavs he was considered the best power forward in the game by some. The Warriors were literally going to trade their whole team for Love.

And if Lebron is so much better than KD, then that should offset the difference between Harden and Love.

So either the Cavs were super talented and they diminishes their 2016 ring or you’re saying that KD really is as good or better than Lebron.

LeBron > KD
2021 Kyrie > 2016 Kyrie
Harden >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Love

So yes the Brooklyn trio are way more talented due to the gap between Harden and Love

But Love’s perceived value when he first came was as good or better than Hardens.

Not true. At the time he was considered a superstar and the best power forward. A stretch 4 and a freak rebounder.

Why can't the Cavs be super-talented and durant be as good or better than lebron

Plus we saw a younger KD and Harden play together. They had Westbrook too. Very good but not a guaranteed ring.

Rebounding champion and multiple time all star. Before he played with LeBron he averaged 26/12.5/4.5/59%TS

Only other players to match that statline is prime Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Giannis.

This is true

He was 99% for HOF on bballref that season, but after sacrificing his prime for bron-ball, it's only 73% now

The 2016 Cavs were the title odds favorites even over the Warriors.

They were +280 which is better than the Clippers and Lakers of last year. It's just bullshit hindsight that they weren't a super team.

Kevin Love's stats look different when he's actually playing with better players. Who would have thought?

Yea and Kobe had a season ending injury.

Sounds like you don't want to say what the Lakers record was, who according to preseason odds were bigger favorites than the 2016 Cavs, in the nearly 80 games Kobe played

Do you think you're making a point by saying the 2013 Lakers underachieved? That's obvious. Dwight was ass and Nash literally couldn't play. Kobe was the only thing holding that team together. They were a first round, taunted at sweep without him. The 2016 Cavs were prime, locked, and loaded. But still needed a rig to not get beat in 5.

They're not. The 2016 Cavs had much more talent. Lebron > any combination of the other 5.

Yea, but what were in his numbers in the playoffs before Lebron?

At that, what were Kyrie's numbers in the playoffs before Lebron?

The Nets have 2 NBA MVPs - they're both still in their primes.

The Cavs just had LeBron.

Love and Kyrie can play for 1000 years and they will never win MVP.

Harden is probably better than Love and Kyrie combined, relatively speaking. He's probably even a better defender than both of them, and that's saying something.

Kyrie when he plays is clearly better than the version of Kyrie in 2016

Kevin Love's playoff averages in the 6 seasons prior to playing with LeBron: 0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg and 0.0 apg
Kyrie Irving's playoff averages in the 3 seasons prior to playing with LeBron: 0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg and 0.0 apg

I will admit that both of them also averaged a phenomenally low 0.0 turnovers in the playoffs up to that point, but their other averages were really poor and overshadow that.
