Going back to the bubble. He was hitting very big shots to help the Blazers put away teams. Now this year he's helped close games with timely three. Tonight he hit a couple threes during a crucial stretch. In Houston and OKC everything he put up was a brick. Now he swished in any open three he gets.

I remember in his Denver days a lot of people considered him more clutch than Lebron, Kobe and Wade

He had some impressive customized criteria clutch stats:

And what has all his "clutchness" brought him throughout the course of his career? This:

Melo couldn't hit anything at OKC because he was frozen out by Westbrook. And Houston was a terrible fit under a terrible coach. The Blazers trust in him, get him involved, that makes him confident and that makes a world of a difference.

Brandon Roy> Carmelo and that's not a knock on Melo just more of how his career has declined

The same thing that makes him clutch destroy's his team's offensive rhythm. If you give him 10 seconds to hold the ball and size a guy up, he can J him. This unfortunately kills his team's offensive flow throughout the regular course of the game.

That's the thing that made Brandon Roy so good. His smooth effort and his smooth drive and jumper. He played in a great rhythm. Not like this janky eurostep players have now. I'd take Roy over Melo all day. Too bad about his career ending knee injuries. But his game was always smooth on his offensive end finishes.
