The plan calls for sending another $1,400 per person to eligible recipients. This money would be in addition to the $600 payments that were approved by Congress in December and sent out earlier this month -- for a total of $2,000.

Biden would increase the federal boost the jobless receive to $400 a week, from the $300 weekly enhancement contained in Congress' relief package from December.

Biden wants to boost the Child Tax Credit to $3,600 for children under age 6 and $3,000 for those between ages 6 and 17 for a year.

The plan would provide $25 billion in rental assistance for low- and moderate-income households who have lost jobs during the pandemic. That's in addition to the $25 billion lawmakers provided in December.

Another $5 billion would be set aside to help struggling renters to pay their utility bills. Biden is also calling for $5 billion to help states and localities assist those at risk of experiencing homelessness.

Biden would extend the 15% increase in food stamp benefits through September, instead of having it expire in June. He would invest another $3 billion to help women, infants and children secure food, and give US territories $1 billion in nutrition assistance.

The plan calls for providing $15 billion to create a new grant program for small business owners, separate from the existing Paycheck Protection Program.
It also proposes making a $35 billion investment in some state, local, tribal, and non-profit financing programs that make low-interest loans and provide venture capital to entrepreneurs.

Biden wants to send $350 billion to state, local and territorial governments to keep their frontline workers employed, distribute the vaccine, increase testing, reopen schools and maintain vital services.

He would also give $20 billion to the hardest-hit public transit agencies.

The plan would provide an additional $170 billion to K-12 schools, colleges and universities to help them reopen and operate safely or to facilitate remote learning.

I honestly do wonder how long we can keep printing money before the house of cards falls down.

Since 2008, America's national debt has surged nearly 200%, reaching $27 trillion as of October 2020. To gain a better understanding of this ever-growing debt, this infographic takes a closer look at various U.S. budgetary datasets including the 2019 fiscal balance.

Our government is operating on a 27 trillion dollar deficit.

it can grow infinitely...it's not a 'real' debt. Printing up fake money with nothing to back it creates a fake debt. The FED is never going to ask for it back. If we default on the debt, nothing happens.

the only real risk is hitting hyperinflation, which has happened to other countries when they do this too much.

another risk is the dollar losing ground to other countries, but that won't happen here because every other country is doing what we are doing.

Warren released her $20.5 Trillion dollar plan (over 10 years), and I said that you couldn't print that much money because you have to take into consideration the National Tragedy X-Factor.

After printing x amount of dollars for Covid (a national tragedy).... how does Elizabeth Warrens medicare for all plan which was released in Nov of 2019 looking now?

What some people can't grasp is that when you dive into the world of socialism, and start making outrageous overpriced promises to pay for everyone's Healthcare & Education, you are doing it under the assumption that the jobs that exist today, will be there years from now. Our Employment Rate is not a guarantee, especially when some states are looking for excuses to shut down businesses.

Don't we also hold the most gold by far on Earth? If dollar loses value & sh!t hits the fan, we still have gold to hedge our bets. Gold is usually the greatest hedge against the stock market/economy plummeting, but that's worst case scenario that we don't want.

Having said that, I do want us to try hard to balance deficits. There are plenty of things that can be done to get deficit under control, such as bring down military budget to $400bn, slash all spending by 5%, invest more in infrastructure/energy/STEM, bring together insurance spending into a single-payer healthcare system, etc

You do realize we already spend around 4 trillion per year on healthcare, right? That's $40 trillion over 10yrs for a fraudulent system that rips off everyone. Universal healthcare would actually bring down the overall annual healthcare cost. If Warren's plan is really $20.5 trillion over 10 years, that's actually significantly less than how much we currently spend.

So to simplify the how and why we are ****ed:

We go from $6 Trillion in debt in the year 2000.... to $49 Trillion in 2025

we go from $31K in median income in 2000.... to $37K in 2025.

I don't care what Elizabeth Warren's plan is or what Biden says or what Republicans say.

The fact is that research done by independent firms like kaiser estimates for Medicare for all ranges somewhere in 30 trillions range total over ten years. That is not in extra spending but rather TOTAL. We currently spend 4 trillion each year and it keeps rising because we don't cap healthcare spending. We allow big pharma and insurance companies to trample over us. We subsidize the entire world's medical research under our current fraudulent system.

Speculating on Warren's Healthcare plan just for fun...$52T over 10 years...and $20.5T of that is "new" money...the rest comes from what is already there for Medicare, taxing the wealthy, other stuff.

So $20T over 10 years...that's $2T a year on average of "new money"...which yeah that's a lot IMO...you would think that it would cause a lot of inflation, but over that long of a time maybe a slightly higher inflation rate would be easier to adjust to. Inflation is really a lot more complex than "printing up money". There is a lot factors that determine it. In 2020 we had a sub-1% inflation rate and so far we have yet to "devalue the dollar"...but maybe that is to come.

I will say with her plan I like a couple things...

1. It gets rid of insurance companies who do NOTHING...they are just a middle man...it allows our healthcare dollars to be spent on actual health

2. All that new money is being funneled through the healthcare system, nurses and doctors and such...unlike now where a stimulus gets funneled directly to Jeff Bezos and Walmart CEOs, people using the stimulus to buy the new PS5 and then still can't afford healthcare. Can't trust the American people to spend their money on what is important, it's got be forced on them or ALL of us end up paying for their shitty health. Warren's plan solves that.

But you know...she isn't POTUS and her plan will never happen...can only speculate

There are several different universal healthcare plans being thrown around. Warren's is on the high end of the scale at 52 trillion over 10yrs. I don't know what her breakdown is & what she includes in her plan and whether there would be any negotiation to bring down the cost.

https://www.crfb.org/sites/default/files/sanders%20single%20payer%20estimates_3.jpg

But it all depends on the negotiations and what year you lock in. I guess the numbers in this graph are based on 2017 costs. I don't know how much costs went up from 2017 to 2020. This is why it needs to be analyzed/studied by some independent firm that can do a thorough study.

No, you will still have a middle man to deal with... and it will be the government... and I can assure you, you'd much rather be dealing with an insurance company compared to the government.

Also you wipe out God knows how many jobs in the private sector by destroying these insurance companies... and replace them with $hit government jobs.

On top of that... When you start to increase taxes on all these big businesses and corporations, typically the unemployment rate starts to go up.

So not only have you wiped out hundred of thousands jobs from these insurance companies you despise, but you've also made it harder for the average joe to get a job because taxes have skyrocketed.

And once you give 330,000,000 Americans free healthcare... you'll be waiting in line several months just to see a doctor.

If we can get the deficit under control, we will be fine.

The total debts is a misconception. People think our total debt is what we owe other countries, but that's not true. A lot of that debt is debt we owe ourselves like mortgage loans, auto loans, etc. The debts we owe ourselves is not going to bring us down. It's what we as a country owe other countries that will sink us if we default on it. However, what people don't understand is that foreign countries also owe us money.

Take Japan for example. We owe Japan lots of money, but in return they also owe a lot of money to us.

The debt we owe other countries that should concern us the most:

Foreign: $6.81 trillion (in July 2020, Japan owned $1.29 trillion and China owned $1.07 trillion of U.S. debt, which is more than a third of foreign holdings)https://www.thebalance.com/who-owns-the-u-s-national-debt-3306124

That $6 trillion is what we owe foreign countries. Everything else is debt we owe ourselves. That includes loans, mortgages but also includes social security, 401ks, pension funds, IRAs, etc. So things like loans are negative debt but the later debts are positive debts. The total debt adds up positive debts, negative debts, everything in a single number. That is a misnomer and doesn't tell the whole story.

Again, get the $3 trillion deficit under control, and we will be okay.

The deficit was something around $600 billion when Donald came along, cutting taxes & significantly increasing military spending & other spending hikes. He ran it up past $1.25 trillion before any covid hit, which of course added $2 trillion on top. The clown leaves the building next week and hopefully, vaccinations will get the economy back by end of the year. Biden has a tough job ahead. He will probably slash military spending down to Obama levels, get taxes close to Obama levels, and we will see what else he does. Hopefully he can get it down to $500 billion. Next president will have to continue to work on bringing that down further.

This is all of our foreign debts other countries owe us MINUS what we owe other countries..

https://www.indexmundi.com/facts/united-states/net-foreign-assets

If we could cash out all our foreign debts with all foreign countries, I believe we as a country end up pocketing 32 billion..

All other debt is what we owe ourselves.

If you jabronies had payed any attention during Obama, or to what party leaders like Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, etc... have been repeatedly saying for years, you would know that medicare for all is NEVER going to happen under the dems. Not like team red will even try. Team blue is claiming they will integrate a public option. That could be step in the right direction even if not enough. Team red wants nothing of the sort and is very much open about wanting nothing but the domination of insurance companies. Team red certainly doesn't want a public option, let alone any attempt towards universal health care.

Yup, Obama did not fight hard to pass universal health care reform when he had the chance but let's not act as if his opposition wasn't the entire republican party.

But again I ask... how much debt do we have compared to Russia?

why do you keep bringing up a country who just got out of communism not long ago? Who got absolutely wrecked in an economical war with the US?

Just wondering why we have a 130% debt to GDP ratio while there's is about 15%.

Are they borrowing trillions of dollars to fight Covid?

Biden’s ‘rescue America’ plan is big. How its trillions could help both Wall Street and Main Street (https://www.marketwatch.com/story/bidens-rescue-america-plan-is-big-how-its-trillions-could-help-both-wall-street-and-main-street-11610807610?mod=home-page)

President-elect Joe Biden on Thursday to propose another $1.9 trillion “first step” spending package

Apparently another $1,900,000,000,000 is only the "first step" in Biden's plan to 'rescue America' from Trump's lockdowns. Ironically, with 95% of Democrat support (bladefd, TheMan, ItsMillerTime, etc) behind Trump's National State of Emergency, Biden himself will be continuing Trump's National State of Emergency for months to come!

Can't wait for the "second step" :lol

Anybody who seriously thinks that the dems will ever attempt to pass medicare for all is high on drugs. If you jabronies had payed any attention during Obama, or to what party leaders like Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, etc... have been repeatedly saying for years, you would know that medicare for all is NEVER going to happen under the dems. Big Pharma and the health insurance industry donate enormous amounts of money to political candidates, and in 2020 their donations favored team blue over team red by a 2:1 ratio.

It just doesn't make sense to me...

Cost to build Allegiant Stadium: $1.9 Billion

100 Stadiums = $190 Billion

1,000 Stadiums = $1.9 Trillion.... Not 32 NFL Stadiums, But about enough stadiums for 32 Leagues.

Cares Act was another 2 Trillion...

so we've printed enough money to build 2,000 Modern Day NFL Stadiums

Or... think of it like this:

Sapphire Bay is a $1 billion mixed use development located on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. With features such as a Crystal Lagoons amenity and an island entertainment component with an incredible synchronized water and video show; a resort and conference center; a world class marina; and the Surf and Beach Club, Sapphire Bay will become a national destination for conferences, vacationing families, residents looking for a unique place to call home, and businesses who want to locate where their employees can live, work, and play.

We just printed enough money to build 4,000 Sapphire Bays.... divided by 50, That's 80 of these developments for each state... but if you base it off electoral college votes and population, California would get 400 of these:

We could build 400 Sapphire Bays in the state of California with the amount of $ we just printed... and the rest of the country still get their fair share.

Kudlow says proposed coronavirus stimulus package is roughly $6 trillion ($2T directly to special interests & $4T in federal reserve handouts)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uolZH4wNvw4

Video from March 24th, "height of pandemic," hospitals eerily empty, and nobody wearing masks either.

And the price tag reported doesn't include things like lost revenue due to all the regulations/lockdowns/etc

They shut us down... inflated our money... and gave money to "special interests" to get rich.

Biggest money heist of all time... and it will continue and continue until ever major city looks like LA.
