Jacob Blake has admitted he was carrying a knife at the time he was shot seven times by a white cop in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Blake made the admission to Good Morning America's Michael Strahan on Thursday during his first TV interview since the August shooting, which left him paralyzed from the waist down.

Blake , 29, denied threatening the officer, Rusten Sheskey, but conceded that he had 'a little pocket knife' on his person.


He claims the knife dropped during a scuffle with the officer and he picked it back up before he was shot.

'I shouldn't have picked it up... At that time I wasn't thinking clearly,' Blake admitted.

Cops don't bother me for the most part. I try not to attract attention to myself. Past few times I've been pulled over has been due to my tints. I act all ignorant about it as if I didn't know they were too dark, and they let me go on with my day. I don't cause confrontation by questioning them up and down about why they pulled me over. Nor do I have a loaded gun sticking out of my waist or just sitting on the passenger seat. Nor am I stupid enough to smoke marijuana in the car.
