President-elect Joe Biden’s decision to immediately ask Congress to offer legal status to an estimated 11 million people in the country has surprised advocates given how the issue has long divided Democrats and Republicans, even within their own parties.

Biden will announce legislation his first day in office to provide a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants in the United States illegally, according to four people briefed on his plans.

Other than being woke, or whatever it's called, why do the ISH Biden supporters think this is such a great idea?

If it for the extra votes? Is it for those who are here illegally now, but what about future illegal aliens? Won't that attract more people to risk their life coming in illegally? What if ISIS decided to go this route? Isn't it too expensive? What about the people that came here legally, won't they be pissed?

because they think they know everything, even though most of them can't even fish.

let's just pour in 11 million people when we don't even have jobs for the people that are already here. You really can't make up how stupid these people are, AND there's another caravan with 7k people heading this way once again now that biden is in.

I don't want to hear a single person in the future complaining about labor force wages. It's simple supply and demand. Why would employers pay better wages when there's a glut of people waiting to do the job? Blacks especially who rely on entry level jobs to make a living are affected by this. Democrats are guaranteeing there will always be a harder working immigrant waiting to do their job for the same or cheaper.

Last year I was talking to a legal US resident Mexican last year operating a million dollar alfalfa harvester. He was clean cut and had a nice dress shirt on. I asked him how much he was paid for operating such an expensive new piece of equipment. He said minimum wage. I told him "Why???". He certainly could demand more for his skill set and responsibility. He told me flatly, "Well if I ask for more, they'll just get another paisa(Mexican) to do it. At least with this job, I'm working in air conditioning all day and don't have to go outside of the cab much"

Hardly any conservatives work entry level jobs. A lot are business owners or hold managerial positions. This actually screws over your fellow socialists/communists like Jasper, RRR3, TheMan, ItsMillerTime, Lakers Legend, and yourself.

Although conservatives don't agree with open borders, the many that own businesses will benefit from this. They get a harder working batch of potential low maintenance employees at minimum wage, and get to fire entitled socialists/communists losers. This is actually a big L for Racist Pedophile joe biden voters. :lol

You think these people aren't already in the US. They're just getting citizenship.
It's just one way of tackling the problem. Another one would be to depprtthem, but why couldn't Trump, who promised stricter migration policies, dispose of them? I'll gibe you a hint: They're illegally in the US and therefore hard to catch.

Making them citizens atleast gives the US the chance to collect taxes from them.

We are already collecting taxes on them since the overwhelming majority are working legal citizens or residents social security numbers. The sooner the US starts verifying employment by DNA the better. I just don't want to hear anyone that's for mass unskilled immigration complaining about wages or or lack of work for labor or entry level jobs.

And even if given legal residency, I guarantee you many will continue to work other's social security numbers. The owner of the number gets a tax refund and can share in unemployment benefits while the immigrant switches to a different seasonal job and number.

I'm divided on this issue, there are pros and cons to both sides of the argument. I don't think wages will go lower since they are already in the work force, no? I also don't think it's right rewarding them with citizenship for entering illegally into the country but...

They are already in the US, granting them a pathway to citizenship gets them out of the shadows. If they are to grant them citizenship, it needs to be with certain conditions like for example...strengthen the border, hire more border patrol, bigger budget spent on the latest technology to detect illegal entry, these new citizens need to be employed and they can't get on welfare for the first 10 years of their stay, they need to pay a fine, like $2,000 or something taken out of their wages, that would be a nice flow of money into the US treasury, from those 11 million or so new citizens...

Unemployment is still high and yet, we want to take on 11M people?

Sorry but there should be better timing.

Also, if we want to make 11M us citizens, they better include those of different nationalities. Just because you live in the Americans should not mean you have a better/faster right to citizenship.

Continue prioritizing educated individuals or entrepreneurs.

We do not need 11M people here because they want to escape, we want 11M that are here to better the country and in effect better their position in life.

There needs to be a legal path to citizenship if you have a STEM degree imo. America can take in the smart people.

For people already here, if you do give them citizenship, make sure it is only a one-time deal. You don't want to further incentivize people to come here illegally if they know they will be allowed free citizenship. You don't want that because everyone will try even harder to get in.

And for those that are here illegally, give them a path UNLESS they have a violent criminal history. In that case they can f*** off.

Did you guys even read the article it's a eight-year path to citizenship for an estimated 11 million. It's going to be a gradual and thorough process. Some of you guys think they'll all become citizens within a year or two :oldlol:
