View Full Version : Do we still have the "Nets wn't make the finals, no bench, no fit" etc takes?

Where are the pseudo-experts at?

The New Nets without any practice time in their 2nd game ever just beat the East's #1 by just taking turns on them, WITHOUT Irving. At times they led comfortably.

The problem is too many people think they're smart and they have some kind of hot take everyone else is missing out on.

Once Harden came over they easily became the best in the East. Harden and KD alone do that.

Kyrie is lucky now that he can get carried

James Harden and Kevin Durant have combined for 138 points, 39 assists, 31 rebounds, 6 blocks and 6 steals in two games together

When I heard about the trade, I celebrated a Nets championship and I didn't know they held on to Kyrie..

Once I found out they kept kyrie TOO *****
?.. I almost shed a tear thinking about the impending 3-peat

We knew Harden/Durant would play good together. Lets see what happens when Irving plays. A scoring point guard can just get in a wing superstars way, like how Kemba does with Tatum. The clippers have no point guard and its translating to the GOAT offense with Kawhi/George having career years. The defense of Irving/Harden/Harris all on the court together is also questionable.

The difference between kyrie and westbrook is that kyrie is an elite shooter

If westbrook was an elite shooter, the 12' Thunder sweep the Finals and win a bunch of rings

Shooting is that big a factor

So Kyrie will fit like a glove.. people don't seem to understand that it's impossible for 3 shooters to not fit

The meltdown you've had over this is ****ing embarrassing. How old are you, 12? Apparently it has affected your ability to read as well, but I digress. To answer your terrible thread produced with tears: yes, the Nets, as currently constructed, have no reliable bench, no defense and do not fit. But please, by all means, continue shaking in your boots over the corpse of DeAndre Jordan. While pathetic, it's also quite amusing.

Let me just, uh, quickly paint a picture here of OP's thought process and what has actually transpired here, rather than an out of context screenshot from one of his many threads on the trade.

Me: 'The Nets, as currently constructed, do not work. Harden and Durant is a terrifying duo, but the problem to them is Kyrie. They would be better off with two good pieces, one of which a big, who can defend and do not need to ball to be effective, rather than another ball dominant head case of a point guard who brings nothing to the table that they do not already have. With their current team they will have trouble in the postseason due to this, that and the third'.

The Nets: play two(!) games, one where they needed every second of 40 minutes of Durant and Harden to grind out a W against the Magic and a one possession win over the Bucks, without said problem, who was out due to ''needing time off''.

You: *inaudible gibberish of shrieking*

Dude it's super early. Wins and losses right now have no bearing on what's going to happen in the playoffs.

Besides, the Bucks game was a high scoring game and that's not the kind of games they're going to playing in the postseason.

This is most likely true. Would he have made threads about a ruined league if Kawhit had joined LeBron and the Lakers as initially intended? Me thinks not. Would he have God complexed Dirk Nowitzki if the flag next to his name wasn't German but French? Probably not. His posts can be summarised as all just meaningless agenda driving. No credibility whatsoever.

Any team in the NBA is going to have a bitch of a time getting stops against a three-pronged attack like Brooklyn has. That said, they can't defend for shit. Milwaukee was practically in a layup line all night and this thread doesn't exist with a three-point swing the other way.

Saying Brooklyn isn't the odds-on favorite in the East at this point is ridiculous...but they're not invincible.

Looks like those takes are still very much valid. Hard to get to the finals without defense. It's not impossible but you'd probably need LeBron.

Oh dang, looks like someone really cares about this thread ::lol

Your character lacks patience. The Nets are still odds-on favorites for the East, in fact almost level with the Lakers.

You'll get there. Until you do, I'll enjoy the hot takes.

So, to get this straight, it is fine to open threads like these with no substance and no validity after two wins, but it is wrong to be called out for them after one loss? That seems like a perfect summarization of what transpired here. That being said, I can already see how this will pan out. If the Nets were to win the championship, OP will be sprinting to his computer to tell us all how he knew and how he is the Messiah. If the Nets were to lose in, say, the 2nd round, OP will be sprinting to his computer to celebrate the loudest to hide his wrong being (as proven somewhat evident by the, again, many threads that were opened after the game).

Can't lose if you play both sides. Pick one, boy.

"If the Nets were to win the championship"

damn, that sounds pretty different from your less-than-aweek-ago "100% won't make the finals" take.

Listen, I just don't like clowns like you or RRR3 that don't understand basketball and think they have some hot take that everyone else misses. No. Its this simple, the Nets are loaded with talent and its too much talent for the rest of the league.

Which idiot would seriously say Nets 100% wont make the finals? Maybe you and RRR3 came to realize how dumb your takes were, which is why you so prematurely wanted to defend your front again here. "bu bu one ball!" clown ass lol

Btw you're attempts at easyness after being so blatantly ruffled from this thread look pretty cringe.

Lol, the mental gymnastics you have to pull to type things like these is so amusing. To be clear, though: the Nets, as currently constructed, will not win the championship. I said it before, I'm saying it now, and I will continue to say it until they make a trade or sign better players. Here, however, is the difference between me and you: if I am wrong, which is a possibility, since no human ever will keep a 100% rate of being right, I congratulate them, I tip my hat and move on. I don't give a shit. You, on the other hand, pull every string imaginable to have the things your way. That's not happening. If you're so confident, by the way, ban bet?

That being said, you said in your previous post, and I quote ''Your character lacks patience''. Which is funny, since you made this thread after two regular season games. It becomes even funnier when you look at the title of this thread, which is, and I quote once more: ''Do we still have the "Nets wn't make the finals (...) takes''. If you are all about patience (which you aren't, see this thread, for instance), you would have waited with said threads and with said calling out until they had actually made the finals. :lol

If you want to call me out again on my takes, which state that they will not win the championship, how about you call me out after they have actually won the championship? Your character lacks patience. I'll take this W for now, thank you.
