It is precisely because of the narratives surrounding the 2015 finals that this question was posed. 2020 Butler got the Heat to 6 games just like the inferior player did in 2015 but whereas the inferior player did it against a team with a roster without a single player that had seen the finals, Butler did it against a team with two top ten players loaded with experienced vets.

Butler got to the same place with less against more experienced opposition. But the inferior player got four votes and Butler got nada. Why?

Not because he lost. But because he did nothing in that last game. He was completely spent, I get it, but you can't get a series mvp with that kind of conclusory performance.
