Len Bias is hard to evaluate considering he never played a game in the pros. Had he not died, he might've been a legit all-time great, but he could've also had a similar career to someone like Danny Manning or Derrick Coleman, who also had massive hype when they came out of college, and who also would've been talked about in a similar way had they died in the same tragic way as Bias.

Grant Hill would've no doubt had an all-time career had he done what Kevin Durant had done last season and just sit out an entire season right after he got injured. Instead he tried to come back early every season before he eventually was forced to sit out an entire season. The fact that he still bounced back to become an all-star after half a decade of missed seasons in 2005 and then went on to have one of the greatest seasons ever for a 38 year-old in 2010-11 just shows how much his injury robbed us of several amazing seasons.

Yes, all kinds of college prospects were hyped to the skies throughout the years and all kinds of ridiculous things have been said about them.

Harold Miner was known as Baby Jordan.
Eddy Curry was known as Baby Shaq.
Darius Miles was supposed to be the next Kevin Garnett.

Every few years a player comes that gets hyped to the skies. Some live up to the hype - LeBron, Durant. Some end up being laughed at, such as the ones mentioned above. Zion is still a question mark. Another one that comes to mind is Greg Oden. He was supposed to have the center position all to himself and dominate like Shaq in the early 00s. And although he got injured, he did play enough to prove that he wouldn't have been nowhere as good as he was hyped to be. We just don't know with Bias.
