It's Schroeder being in the starting line up. He's a scoring PG and he's taking touches away from AD.

Last year Lebron was the real PG and is way better at running the offense than Schroeder and making sure AD gets his touches. Lebron/Schroeder playing at the same time means less touches for AD since he is a big man. Lebron/Rondo worked last year because Rondo was a true PG and elite distributor (also played with AD in New Orleans).

Also they are still working in Harrell/Matthews into the bench so Kuzma/Caruso aren't playing as much as well. Caruso definitely needs more playing time as he was vital last year and in all the best +- lineups.

The Lakers are actually super deep this year on offense so Lebron/AD will have less "stats" this regular season.
