What is going on over there in Utah? :biggums:

Meanwhile Toronto dropped 2 key games that could have brought us all the way to the 7th seed after tonight.
Right now we are playing like peasants :facepalm

I am just passing by to show some love to that young man.
10-0 last 10 games. :applause:
The man is averaging for that stretch: 25.2 ppg 5.0 rpg 4.8 apg on 48% FG sheesh!

Conley is also sharing the ball and distributing as well. So Mitchell is technically a shooting guard. Those are shooting guard stats.

He should be a MVP candidate as well.

conley's been their best guy so far. whole team besides bojan is playing pretty well and bojan's still a positive just because of his spacing

Bojan has been one of the worst players in the NBA so far. Carlisle had Trey Burke on him tonite he was so worried about him :lol

https://www.slcdunk.com/the-downbeat-latest-jazz-news/2021/1/27/22249953/bojan-bogdanovic-utah-jazz-shooting-3-pointers

Advanced metrics take Bogdanovic’s lack of production and place him among the worst players in the league right now. NBA Math’s Total Points Added metric credits Bojan with a -42.23 mark, the 12th-worst number among all players this season. His VORP is -0.3, tied for 11th-worst and his Box Plus/Minus is at a -4.1, tied for 34th-worst among qualified players.

It's arguable if he was a positive last year. Brings little to the table besides scoring

This is Utah's best team since perhaps Stockton and Malone at the start of the millennium. Definitely the best of Utah's last successful 4-5 years.

2016-2017 = The Hayward, George Hill year
2017-2018 = The Donovan Mitchell ROY year
2018-2019 = The Donovan Mitchell sophmore year
2019-2020 = The Mike Conley, Bogdanovic, Clarkson year where they tried to go more modern, replacing Favors with shooting
2020-2021 = The let's get Favors back year and get the best of both worlds

This Utah team is great because they've got everything -- shooting, size, length, defense, offense. In the past Utah was too defensive-oriented, and last year they lost that by adding shooting and spacing.

The 2007, 2008, and 2010 Utah teams were also fairly solid.

2007 made it to the WCF, although 2008 was probably a better team. They won 54 games and had a 6.86 SRS -- third best in the league. They were knocked out in the semis -- 6 games by the Lakers.

2010 won 53, had a 5.33 SRS -- third once again in the league -- and got swept by LA in the 2nd round.

That team's core consisted of Boozer, Deron Williams, Kirikenko, and Mehmet Okur. A very curious blend of talents -- a poor man's Stockton and Malone, a shot-blocking swiss army knife wing, and a three point shooting center.

If only his offense was as good as his screens maybe his name would have been mentioned in this thread 4 Mvp.

2016-2017 = the first glimpse of what we see now with Favors benched and the last legs of Joe Johnson and the corpse of Boris Diaw stretching the floor with Hill, Hayward and Ingles replacing Hood in the starting lineup. Gobert put up over 17 a game after the change
2017-2018 = the Rubio shit show with Favors and Hood returning to the starting lineup like they learned nothing from the previous year!
2018-2019 = " " and 8 + 3's a game from Crowder
2019-2020 = replacing Rubio was the big move unfortunately they had no PF and little D
2020-2021 = still no PF other than Favors back in the corner spotting up for 3

Still lack size and versatility

They made the WCF because GS upset the number one seed in round 1. Millsap was a big part of those teams

It at least seems that playing Favors as a backup center is better than a starting PF alongside Gobert... True?

That’s what the offensively challenged say. Screens are set in games a lot. Nothing new. But whatever covers his offensive deficiency so be it

2nd best effective fg%/2 pt fg% in history and the best 3 point shooting team in the league. A lot of options besides another bad shot from Mitchell or Bojan

Minor workload? What in the hell?
Yeah you havent watch a Jazz game this year.

Donovan is the 4th best player on the team. Until he learns how to consistently take care of the ball and not force shots...he wont be what we need him to be

He hasn't played the four much. Nothing against Favors. 30 million for a backup center on a team with no PF other than Favors I have a problem with. If you can't play big without losing the spacing that makes the offense dangerous how are you versatile?
