Last year they started the season 17 - 3, now they are 14 - 6.
They were first in the west last year, now behind Jazz & Clippers.

Not same rim protection
Not same bigs
Replaced Danny Green in the lineup with Schroder who is maybe better offensively, but worst defensively.

Dwight Howard over Harell was a big deal.
You could have kept Howard instead of bringing Harell, and signed someone else instead.
Those losses don't stop them from being title contenders, darling.

yes, but not favorites. Clippers - Jazz now in WCF. Dont see how they beat the Nets or Sixers in the final either, can u imagine Brooklyn going 8 minutes without scoring?

I don't think so, no home court advantage, and different travel schedules and covid have lead to more parity in the league.
The Lakers are trying to get into the playoffs healthy after the shortest break ever, judging them now is a mistake.

Well now that you've posted Op I fully expect a 10 game Win streak soon.

Tell this to op. He's the one who said they've 'heavily regressed', after all.

We need to rely more on Davis offensively like we did last season, looks like he's a little banged up but we can't have a 36 y.o Lebron lead the team in minutes & shot attempts all season if we want to win another title.

No. The Lakers need to trade Schroder for 3&D players, who would complement LeBron and AD. Also, play Caruso and THT more. Wes Matthews gets 17 ****in minutes? :oldlol:

Schroeder is a good player but a poor fit for this team
He needs to either come off the bench or put in a trade package for someone that can play offball next to LeBron

Lol Lebron run teams always have a "struggle" period and if you notice, it's usually from Lebron taking steps back to see what guys can and can't do.
He had 22 points in the first half, and became extremely passive in the second half. Since 2015, Lebron has done this stuff repeatedly. They most likely will make a trade but it won't be a big one.
I'd expect LA will come out to beat Boston. Blake last night turned back the clock for a minute and Derrick Rose played hard. Those are 2 guys that deserve to be on better teams.

I think teams that have won the championship tend to take the foot off the pedal the following year, and they take the post-season more serious than the regular season. I would say they are just pacing themselves until the playoffs.

wtf does a knicks fan know about even making the playoffs?

Magic/Lebron play a weak brand that is 9-10 in the Finals
They should never lose with Kareem as sidekick, yet they lose more than they win and frequently look underwhelming like right now

If you want to speak about last season, I remember their last season's game in Philadelphia. It was a blowout loss.
This season they were one Vogel brain fart of a defensive lineup to close the game away from winning against a Sixers team that is better than last season's.
The Lakers are better this season. They are just using their pieces in a more idiotic way - Schroder not coming off the bench being the most obvious mistake.

I thought would suffer defensively without Howard and Mcgee, but they are still the best defensive team in the league. I think AD is bit banged up and LeBron is a bit older, but overall I think they are fine.
Other teams got better tho.
Schroeder probably is better suited coming off the bench on this team. But I don't think they have anybody suitable to replace him and that could fit well with LeBron atm.

I think most experts would easily have them as WCF favorites over the Clippers and the Jazz. They're favored to win the title aren't they?

And Jordan can't even make the Finals most of the time.

Meh, they seem like a team just waiting for the playoffs. The regular season has been a joke for years now.

This.
There's these types of threads every year. Wish they weren't all deleted so we could see how dumb people are year in and year out.
yes, but not favorites. Clippers - Jazz now in WCF.
Don't forget those teams blew their respective 3-1 leads to 7'1 brian windhorst last time. What a history.

Trez was always good. He was good on Houston when he was the backup roll man, catching Harden lobs. Got thrown into the Chris Paul deal like he was nothing. Becomes the main lob man on LAC. Puts up some numbers, people forget he basically has no skill and isn't good on defense.
He's an energy guy, which is important. But he plays the wrong position to have that role on the Lakers. Lakers need energy and pace from their guards. Schroeder is good for that. But for a big man, they'd be better off with someone like Ibaka.

Do you really think the Jazz are the favorites over the Lakers once the playoffs start?
If you were a betting man, would that really be your wager?
It's just a hot streak in the regular season.
