Think it's time. He is living off that one ring in 2011. But not much since then? Mavs look regressing from last year

I guess Stephen Silas was actually the brains of the operation last season for Mavs success? It also doesn't help that your best player is a crybaby fat bitch and your 2nd best player is always injured and weighs 120 lbs at 7"3. Put a sock in em.

If the Mavs miss the playoffs they might not have an option.
I know Cuban has a love affair with Rick, but with all that talent and promise then to regress and miss the playoffs after a good season last year, you have to figure Carlisle has to go.

Carlisle is a top 5 coach in the NBA. they won't find a better replacement, not even close.

I thought the job he did in Indiana after the suspensions was incredible. It's not all about rings. He's certainly one of the best

Rick is a great coach and a legend in Dallas for a lot of reasons both on and off the court. Anything could happen, but I think they'd trade KP before they fired Rick.
Realistic expectations matter more than "promise" anyway. This team is nothing of note and Luka has a long way to go to being the franchise player/leader everyone just crowned him as last year.

Agree 100%. He was awesome in Indiana. And he also did a great job before in Detroit building the team that later would win the ring in 2004. He has done lots of great jobs in different circumstances. The moment he leaves the Mavs all NBA teams will want him as their head coach.

Those were many many years ago. It might be time for him to retire

He'll get a lot of money from someone if Dallas doesn't want him. I doubt he is retiring

Mark Cuban appeared on a local radio station a few years back. He was asked his opinion on the Cowboys coaching situation, this was after another one of their disappointing seasons and the annual "Should the Cowboys fire Jason Garrett" debate was kicking off. I don't remember his exact reply, but it was something like "You don't fire a coach just because the team is going through a rough stretch. If you did your due diligence and you're convinced you hired the right man, then the only time you fire him is if he's lost the locker room. If the players are tuning him and his message out, than it's time to move on."

The Mavericks have by far the hardest schedule to start the season, barring injuries to key players they will be fine at the end of the season and make at least the wild card playoffs.

That is a good call by Cuban, for the most part I agree.
The question at the moment is, has Carlisle lost the locker room?
Luka looks so god damn pissed every game, having fits of rage after every loss. It's good to see he cares but I don't believe it is a good thing after every loss. Sure their schedule may have been tough, but their team is talented and pretty deep.
There comes a time when there is a need to change coaches no matter how good they are or their resume looks. There is a need for new and fresh ideas sometimes.
Sure it would be stupid to fire Carlisle now but if they do miss the playoffs a review of the coaching staff should be the first point of business. Cuban loves him, but Carlisle is not Pop, no matter how much he wishes he was.
That all being said, if the make it to the play in no team will want to play them.

Seriously just watch Porzingnis only and it will drive you insane. He literally stands at the arc with his hands out waiting to catch the ball. It's great when the 3 ball is falling and I'm sure it probably will soon enough but do something else for the love of the God. He's only ever looking to get a shot off and I have no idea why the coaching staff let's this slide every single game.

Nah they don't have the right pieces right now. If your best player is gonna be an out of shape shit defender you need some tough defensive pieces around him.

Losing Stephen Silas was huge, Rick Carlisle has to go now. How long will Cuban wait? Carlisle lost the ship.
Stephen Silas should be given COY for what he is doing in Houston and how Mavs are looking without him.
