I'm not sure if it is the right move.

Mostly I would blame the GM for not getting good players. Mavs have 2 starters in Luka and KP the rest of the squad are bench players.

What you can blame on Carlisle is the lack of effort and physicality on this team. They've been soft for 3 seasons now.
