Thanks for creating this thread and reminding me of another historically great performance of LeBron James.

Because this was yet another game where LeBron was by far the best player on the floor: 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

The Heat were down 75-65 going into the fourth quarter. Yet carried by the GOAT LeBron James who scored 15 points in the 4th they somehow managed to claw back and force overtime where the Heat prevailed.

The second best player for the Heat this game by the way was Mario Chalmers, who with his 20 points scored 6 more points than the third highest scoring Dwyane Wade.

It was a historic run but as heavy favorites, why did they let their opponents win three games each in the last two rounds?

Lebron has zero game-winners

Anything outside of the championship level doesn't matter and Lebron is 0-8 in clutch shots in the Finals (game-winners or tie'rs).. if he was 4-8 like MJ, he'd have a winning Finals record and 6 chips already

This guy team-hops around for 20 years for only 5 chips and still no clutch shots in the Finals.. that's nowhere near GOAT

Btw, Jordan hit winners more often (lebron needed more games).... and he shot 50% on winning attempts, while lebron shoots 30% on winners, aka choker

As amazing as it sounds, LeBron's magnificent 32 point performance in game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals was actually below average standards for Elimination Game James:

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DeF6V-oXkAEzFk_.jpg

It was still higher than the #2 guy on the list though, who barely ever had to face adversity due to playing in a weak era, and when he did he lost most of the time. :oldlol:

It's easy to get high ppg in elimination games when you let bum teams take you 7 games

Jordan only went 7 games with top 5 SRS teams... Except when pippen wet the bed in the 92' ECSF, so they surprisingly went 7 with NY that yr

Top heavy leagues have higher net ratings for the top teams because their comp is trash - the recent super-team era saw the Heat/Spurs and Cavs/Warriors as the only teams with big 3's, so they crushed their weak comp to achieve higher net rating

Otoh, the talent was evenly-spread in the 90's, so everyone was having close games with each other (lower net rating).. obviously it's harder to win with many Finals-caliber teams than being 1 of 2 Finals caliber teams with big 3's

Ray allen’s was off of Lebron’s miss :oldlol: and he had the gall to ask for the ball again after choking.

Kerr’s was a nice play. Jordan took the double and passed it perfectly to kerr for the wide open shot. Smart play.

See Stockton falling in that photo? Michael Jordan (the guy who called up David Stern to cry about exactly this kind of stuff which lead to him getting foul calls whenever someone breathed on him) deliberately kicked him. Should have been an offensive foul. That's why I don't count the 97 ring when it comes to MJ's resume.

If Ray missed that shot, Lebron would have been 1/4 playing with a superteam he personally selected. Thank you indeed Ray.

The clock stopped at 5.3 seconds when the ball went in. If it doesn't go in, there's time for another possible offensive rebound and kickout to attempt another 3.

Spurs got lucky cause they had no timeouts, but the refs had to stop the clock to check to see if Ray was indeed behind the line. Spurs had time to set up an inbounds play which they did, got past half court with 3 seconds left and Parker missed a decent baseline look.

Not a guarantee if Ray misses, the game is automatically over.

It went down one way and one way only. And that shot proved to be the clincher thereby making it the saving shot for Lebrons superteam stint in MIA.
