In this hypothetical where we switch that bum Ostertag with Gobert

Does that change the end result of the Jazz three seasons from 1996 to 1998 where they lost two finals vs the Bulls and also lost a very close 7 game series against the SuperSonics in the Western Conference Finals.

It's interesting to see how gobert and his current team will fare in the upcoming postseason

Indeed they would be very tough to beat with a frontcourt of Rudy and Malone along with John in the backcourt dishing out dimes.

Depends on if the refs will still be Bulls employees or not.

Tag rebounded and blocked shots. Gobert brings a lot more to the table

Sure but Ostertag wasn't a scrub..

And people don't realize the parity of the West in the 90's... The Sonics', Rockets, Suns, and Jazz were evenly matched and took turns winning the West based on which team was healthiest and caught the right breaks.. so every western Finals team was extremely battle tested and having their banner year

3ball that man was a complete scrub and it was flat out disgusting how easy he along with the rest of centres that the Jazz had let Jordan waltz into the paint to score basically all the time.

Which may I remind you Rudy wouldn't have let that happen as Rudy is basically a quicker more flexible Dikembe with an actual offensive presence.

He would have destroyed in that style of game which the '90s had as most players of that era would have zero options to combat him with their lack of outside shooting. He would seriously have averaged like 5 blocks per game and run away with the DPOTY over and over again in most years.

Gobert in a slow paced defensive minded era wont look as good and obviously would not have the same impact and numbers due to less posessions and bigger guys in the paint. Basketball is also not that simple that you add a guy and you instantly win because chemistry matters and the other team would also adjust to him to lessen his impact.

Gobert in the 90s is what? A third tier big below the likes of Mourning and Mutombo? The era was known as the golden age of centers and they are probably 20 bigs (C/Pf) better than him at the time.

but Sloan's favorite Collins was a scrub. Sloan wasn't a fan of Tag. Sloan was a fan of Rudy before they drafted him.

Why would he be worse than Mutumbo? Mourning maybe but he's a better rebounder than Mourning
