Second Impeachment thoughts...

Coming out of retirement again to post my thoughts (i know, nobody cares. If you don't just leave the thread or post a troll comment, IDK) on the impeachment ceremonies.

Trump was a force. There's no denying that. He was and remains a self-aggrandizing nationalist that plays to the tune of his own instrument. That's fine, but to deny that his ethos became a toxic sparkplug for a fascist, anti-democratic uprising is delusional. If the Republicans don't denounce the uprising as Trump's fault, not only does it leave the door open for more fascist uprisings from these same forces, it displays a large sign from the Republicans that reads "what you did was OK and we think what you did was the right thing" at most and at the least it reads "we are too afraid to stand up to the fascist forces sparking in the US and will pretend you dont exist, please vote for us again".

Trump will get a slap in the wrist at worst and will be fully pardoned for his crimes at best. Rarely are presidents held accountable for their actions ie. GWB.

I'd agree BLM and Antifa had similar senseless, pointless anarchist movements which were also rooted in fascism (or at least violent exercises) but they didn't get as close to attacking and murdering federal officials in a goverment building. That's the difference. That's a huge difference.

Murder congress and the VP and you have a real COUP. ANd what was that COUPs demands? Recognize a president that lost the election? What else? A new neo-con government?

Republicans won't impeach Trump with a conviction because they are scared to lose 70 million votes for 2024.
This equates to our democracy is in the toilet and republicans that call them selves republicans care more about money than lives that were lost. Not only expect a revolution in the future , expect the dinosaur mentality of racism to rear it's ugly head and possibly have a dictatorship that Trump so dearly wanted.
