No problem? It's clear that this team wouldn't make the playoffs without AD. He really is BY FAR best second option. Harden is a better player but AD's defense makes him much more important.

Aren't they 4-1 without AD now?

Edit: my mistake. It's 5-1

two of those 5 are against OKC. And one against Minnesota. And one against Detroit.
That's the worst teams in the league.

Not saying they're a great team without AD, but its certainly not "clear that this team wouldn't make the playoffs without AD"

I'd say it's clear that they would.

These games wouldn't even be close if they didn't go long stretches looking disinterested and shooting like shit.

Bro if you go life and death with the worst teams in the NBA you are not that good come on. Maybe they make 7th/8th seed? I dont see it. Btw Lebron not slowing down at this stage of his career is really impressive. But lets not lie to ourselves like in the OP. Take a break from trolling.

another 10 games like this with OTs, lebron will break down.

This team needs AD.

If AD is still not over his period by Friday and there is a high probability that LeBron will have to play another 40 minutes, then LeBron needs to sit out against the Grizzlies as well. F it, just give Quinn Cook some playing time, take the L and have everyone rested for the Denver game on Sunday. And if AD still can't play against Denver, then he can go phukk himself.

This season is increasingly looking like LeBron's last season with Miami, where he fought tooth and nail to give the Heat as good of a record as possible while Dwyane Wade was resting, only to have Wade average 15.2/3.8/2.6 in the finals.

The Nets lost B2B games against the Cavs, lost 2 games to the Wiz and lost to Detroit.

Are they not a good team?

That's a terrible example lol. Newly constructed team, their star players missed games and yes they haven't been good. But they have huge potential because of obvious reasons.

That's actually not necessary. LeBron's 40 minutes are not like other people's 40 minutes. And that wasn't 40 minutes of playoff LeBron.

LeBron is out there doing high IQ energy allocation management allowing him to play the 40 minutes without the wear and tear of 40 minutes.

He knows everyone's percentages from every spot on the floor and he makes energy management decisions based on that, deciding whether his energy is better used on late game availability over something like sprinting to challenge a shooter taking the lowest percentage shot in the 2nd quarter.

The game book says he played 40 minutes but for him it was not a 40 minute game, so you can relax.

Lakers have looked very impressive on D thanks largely to Davis who is again a DPOY-level force. They are #1 in DRtg. On offense though they haven't been great. They are 12th in ORtg and have especially struggled the last few games. If I was a Lakers' fan I'd be worried about Lebron playing 40 minutes per game even if he is obviously saving energy.

Uhhh not this year at all, actually. His defense has been disappointing.

Their 3pt shooting has bottomed out over the last 10 games or so. Same issues as last year.

Admittedly I've only seen a few games maybe 5-6 in their entirety and Davis was dominant defensively. His struggles in general are kind of overblown. He's scoring less because he's shooting less, probably because of Schroder and Harrell. Missing free throws is weird but he will turn it around as long as he's healthy. I can still see him average 25 ppg this season.

I hope AD just stops playing for this team and be done with it. Maybe just go on hiatus or move to anoyher team. His trajectory is that of Bosh’s at this point.

Agree 100%. Much like Bosh, he is satisfied with the ring he got, then goes on to play like shyt.

In Bosh's case it was 0 points in game 7 of the 2013 Finals and averaging 14.0/5.2/1.0 in the 2014 finals.
In AD's case it's zero aggressiveness: 5.8 free throw attempts on .702 shooting this season compared to 8.5 free throw attempts on .846 shooting last season.

His soft, crappy rebounding numbers are very reminiscent of Bosh as well.
