I mean that's kind of a pointless argument to even have since he got all the help in the world to come to him after missing the playoffs his first year as a Laker(and yes I do realize he missed games that year due to injuries, get over it). Fact is we'll never know if he could have ever been truly successful in the west as the only All Star on a team(let alone only arguably top 5 player on a team, but it was his choice to collude so hard to get AD)
