I'm doubting the accuracy of the average heights now.

The newer generation is tall ... I'm 6' and kids now are around 6'2" average ... Saw a young female the other day nearly my height ...

Are we talking the average HS bball player or the average kid? About 7 years ago the average 16 year old male was 5'7". (https://www.creditdonkey.com/average-male-height.html)

Latest CDC stats show ages 20-39 is 5'9". The average guy 20-25 is probably ~5'10" in the US.

I've been living out of the country for about 15 years now. Whenever I am back in the States for a visit, I cannot help but notice how enormous everyone is.

Corn Syrup in everything. Hormones in the meat.

Just look at some very old films that are available on YouTube, where it is they are filming as the ride down a city street. There's horses and buggies mixed with early automobiles. Just check out the people and notice that almost noone is overweight. Here's a good example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO_1AdYRGW8

Anyway, Americans are fat as hell. But it definitely is a recent thing. My parent's generation (Born in the 30's and 40's) were mostly fit.

Lol yeah maybe it's 168 at his high school, but the average American male over 20 years old is roughly 198 lbs.

Lots of 200 lbs+ people in that video. Watch a Wal-Mart live stream and you'll find even more.

Probably the same place where the guy who said the average American in their early 20s was 6`2"

Tallest countries in the entire world (Nordic countries) the average male height is 6`0"

Balkan, Nordic, and certain African nations have the tallest average heights.

You *******s must be around midgets ... Go to any college campus, major shopping mall, major gym, major tourist area and you'll see plenty of early 20 year old dudes 6'2"+

Right. As I've said, Nordic countries have average heights for adult males around 6'0" & the USA is roughly 5'9".

There are "plenty" of Americans in their early 20s who are 6'2", but 6'2" is not the average (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/average).

Depends on demographic

I'm saying from anecdotal evidence that the younger generations are getting taller

The average of the country includes everyone so of course it would be lower

Which nations are these? All subsaharan African nations are shrinking. Africans were the tallest people on Earth 75-100 years ago but they have been steadily shrinking since at least the 1950s. I don't think there are any tall African nations left. The average height for a Nigerian male today is only 5'6. They have shrunk big time over the last few decades. The weird thing is, the rest of the world is getting taller. I believe Latin America on average is now taller than SubSahara Africa. SE Asians will be taller than Africans within 25 years at this rate as well.

And I don't believe for one second that young people in the US, averaged out, are getting a lot taller. Most people born in the US today aren't white, and while Latinos and Asians are getting taller and taller in the US and the rest of the world as well, it will take them several generations to get to where whites are now.
